What I Left Behind

In The Beggining

"Ready or not, here I come" Jess screeched as she ran though the towering trees like a wild beast, scavenging for food. Her ears could hear a pin drop and in that instant moment she heard something. A twig snapped; She had found her prey! Kryil dived for safety but it was too late...

"Found you" Jess tackled Kryil onto the bed of leaves, his body bruising like a soft peach...

"Get off me!!" Kryil stated in embarrassment... "I... I let you win" His eyes glanced towards the floor.

Jess snarled at him. She knew when he lied, she always did... In a swift movement she was on her feet circulating around him with a broken stick, she replied...

"Oh yea?"
"Yeah..."

Again Kyril glanced at the ground while Jess hid her sly smurk.

"Anyway it's YOUR turn"

He raised his eyebrows, waiting patiently for her reply...

"Guys, guys, guess what!!?"

Their heads turned to see a  young boy weaving his way through the trees in order to reach them.

"I've got it, I've actually got it!!"

"What do you mean you've got it?" Jess asked in curiosity, still proud of her achievement.

"Jess your a girl, you won't understand" He moved with a confident step.

"Dylan!! That's horrible!" Jess squealed. Turning her head away in disgust.

Ignoring Jess, Dylan showed off his latest object "So Kyril, I have the NEW ballpoint pen!!" Dylan's face lit up in excitement waiting for Kyril's reaction...

"The new ballpoint pen?? What on earth is a ballpoint pen?" Asked Jess, tilting her head on a slant.

"See I knew you wouldn't understand"

Jess stomped her foot. How dare he talked to her like that, she was soon going to be a Lady and of course they deserve respect.

In her head she pondered about what life would be like in the future, to have millions of men wanting her hand, to be treated well instead of this abuse...

Oh how she dreamed!
