  "(Y/n).. we need to talk."

the Puppet-err.. man spoke with a rather serious look on his face and voice, it was if life was now dipped in surrealistic ink this whole time there was some strange guy inside the puppet animatronic what? WHAT?

"Now this may seem all very strange to you dear (Y/n) I know. The others and I have never shown our true selves to anyone much less the hated Nightwatchmen that came before you, but this is no trick. this is what I truly am." Marionette explained as you feel your head fill with a mountain of questions for this stranger. Who was he? What was he? how does he know your name? What was going on inside his head between last night when he deliberately tried to kill you, and this night when he saved you from getting stuffed? what did he mean by "Others"? You wanted answers and you were going to get them..probably.

"W-who are you? what do you want from me?" you asked shifting uncomfortably under the Puppet man's piercing gaze that then softened to something that appeared to be both friendly and sad, mostly sad "you don't know who I am?" he answered only with a question of his own and you stared at him puzzled "n-no I don't.." the puppet inaudibly sighed and his body slacked.

"that figures..It really has been a long time hasn't it?..my dear old friend (Y/n)" Mari then lifted his hands to cup your face, you tensed at the caress of his cool velvet covered fingertips against the flushed skin of your cheeks and you let out a small whimper, his face leveled with your giving you an caring look with a hint of enamoring.

A light pink blush dusted your face and you felt your heart flutter if ever so slightly at this rather handsome individual who was supposed to be the Puppet animatronic, he seemed to notice you reaction and chuckled slightly before releasing you leaving you in a mild daze "and the reason I brought you here tonight was because I wanted a chance to talk to you, to see your face again, last night I didn't recognize you.. I though you were that godforsaken Night guard from the night before until I got a better look at your face. After that I couldn't bare the fact that I nearly killed my childhood best friend.."

"Childhood best friend..?" you muttered questioningly squinting at the Man wondering what he was implying by that, then a face flashed inside your memories.. the fluffy black hair, shy smile, bright blue eyes that twinkled with youthful innocence..No...no.. that's impossible.. why would you think of him at a time like this (Y/n).. you mentally chided yourself, coming back to reality you rubbed your eyes letting out a disbelieving grunt

"Ok but why did you try to kill me in the first place? What is your deal? what is every animatronic's deal?!" you crossed your arms, Puppet seem to visibly flinch at the question and a worried and reluctant expression grew across his face

"(Y/n)." Mari began "If I told you the whole truth you wouldn't believe me.." you put a hand on the puppet's shoulder and looked at him, you gave a stern look " Mari, I have seen supposedly harmless animatronics attack me, withered Bonnie respond intelligently to me and even seen you, a grown man come out of the puppet animatronic
and strip it like a wet suit. I am pretty sure I am convinced at this point that there's alot more going on than meets the eye, and I would like to have some answers.."

Mari sighed and looked down at you again he seemingly unsure if he should give the nigh guard away his secrets even if she is his friend, Even then would she really believe him? his past was a touchy subject for him and perhaps even for his friend after all she was there..

"It all began on June 25th, 1973.." Mari began noting your face with eyes that flashed with recognition and a bit of surprise "at Fred bear's family diner.. I was celebrating my-" *DING DONG DING!!*

The bell signifying the end of your shift rang out and resounded even from with in the box. Both you and the Puppet man slumped with disappointment then exchanged looks "Looks like my shift's over." you said shifting slightly in the box waiting for Mari to open the Box. Mari had opened his box and stood up, even as a humanoid the puppet was still pretty tall, about two heads taller than you to be exact.

You attempted to stand only when a sharp pain shot though your legs and abdomen causing you to hiss loudly and fall back lightly on your butt, it was easy to forgive Mari for clawing at you but no thanks to withered Bonnie; who practically dragged you down the hall manhandling you all the way to the "parts & services room" and nearly stuffing you, your body ached and burned in more ways than one. How would you go about explaining the unusual amount of cuts and bruises you had gotten from work was something to think on as soon as you get home, however you were focused on Mari who had a look both apologetic and sympathetic lent his hand out to you to grab hold and help you,

with a appreciative smile you grabbed hold of his hand which was not freezing but usually cold for a human, as if he didn't have a source of natural body heat at all. Mari helped pick yourself up with ease and even helped you climb out of his box. Getting back on your feet you turned back to Mari who remained in his box.

"can you walk alright?" Mari asked concerned you nodded "I think I can make it home alright, thanks Mari, for everything.." you replied turning to the door only to feel a hand touch your shoulder.

You shot the Puppet a questioning look as you gave you a look that held something you could really read,

"(Y/n) when you come back again tonight I want you to let the music box go silent again. I will make sure the toys won't lay a finger on you."

"You can do that..?" you question prompting the Marionette to nod

"Yes I can, I, for the most part control the toy animatronics and their actions.. they will listen to me, however I don't have as much control over the older animatronics.. their lust for vengeance tends to overpower my ability to control them so keep sharp I will come for you soon enough.." he explained before giving you one last goodbye and began slowly slipping back into his box.

You slowly limped out of the establishment minding your sprained ankle and to your car, you sighed in exhaustion once you got in, starting the car you glanced back at Freddie's one more time before driving out of the parking lot heading towards home.
