Deidara stared at Ishi as she slept. He had woken up a while ago, bit he didn't want to move, in fear of waking Ishi up. He watched as his sister breathed in and out slowly, and he contemplated the decision he'd have to make.
He wanted to send Ishi to a village, but he was at a lost at where he should send her. Perhaps Kiri? No, that place is to violent. Iwa isn't an option, and I don't know much about Kumo... His only realistic options were either Konoha or Suna. Deidara was apprehensive though. What if he sent Ishi to a bad village? One where people would hate her? Deidara let out a quiet sigh, thinking about his options.
In Konoha, she could be raised by some of the best ninjas in the land, and trained almost perfectly. But they would more than likely figure out who she was, and disown her for the fact of who her brother was. In Suna, she could learn to use her art without hurting people, she could master it and create something for herself.
With a sigh, Deidara nodded on his decision before he got out of his bed as slowly as he cloud, trying his hardest not to awaken Ishi. He grabbed a bag that hung on the wall beside of his bag, and started putting all of Ishi's things within the bag. It was in the late of night when he made this decision, but Deidara knew that he needed to get her out of this place as quick as he could.
As he packed all of her things up in the room, he slid some of his stuff into the bag for her, so she would never forget him. In the very bottom of the bag was a picture of Deidara and Ishi, the older male had his hand placed on his sisters head and he was sticking his tongue out at the camera, and Ishi was looking up at her brother laughing with her mouth wide open.
Deidara gave a small sad laugh as he finish packing her bag, before placing it on his back. He walked to the bed, and looked down at his little sister, her blonde hair laying crazily along the bed, and her face peacefully asleep as if no one could ever hurt her or ever had.
He leaned down and tapped her forehead slightly, a sleep Genjutsu overtaking the small girl so that she wouldn't wake up. Maybe it was cruel of Deidara to take his sister to a foreign land and not tell her, or even say goodbye. But in his mind, her being somewhere where she could be free, people would love her because she is so sweet, a place where she didn't have to worry about hiding with her criminal brother. To Deidara, he was doing the right thing for her.
He picked his sister up and hugged her tightly against him, rocking her back and forth slightly with a tear or two sliding down his face. He loved his sister so much, and that's why he has to do this for her, he just only wished it wouldn't hurt so much. With Ishi in his arms, he placed his hands up and disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
When he reappeared, all he could see was a large building made of sand, that stood in the middle of the town. A gentle breeze brushed more and more sand over them and gave them a slight camouflage the Iwa siblings. But Deidara sat his sister down beside of the large building, crouching down beside of her.
"I love you, Ishi. I know that you're going to think I did this because I didn't want you around, but know that was never the case. You'll be safer here with these people than you would ever have been with me and the Akatsuki. I hope one day you find it in your heart to forgive me, because I'll always be here when you need me, un. Goodbye Ishi. Until we meet again." He said, poking her forehead to release the Genjutsu, before he disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
Ishi opened her eyes and she jumped at the sight of sand. Quickly on her feet, she looked around frantically for her brother, whimpering slightly. "Dei!" She called out, her voice echoing through the unknown town.
"Dei!" She said louder, glancing around as the sand flew higher and higher at a faster pace through the wind, it landing in the girls eyes.
"DEI! " She yelled loudly, falling to her knees and sobbing quietly, the young girl beyond frightened.
"Who are you? and why are you outside in a sand storm child?" Asked a man who opened the door beside of the girl.
She jumped away from the door, scooting back along the sand. Her arms were shaking, barely holding her up. "Come on child, come inside." He said, stepping back slightly.Ishi was slightly timid to walk inside, but soon enough she did and the man closed the door behind of her. He was dressed in a long white robe, and had a large hat that was placed on his head. "I'll ask again, who are you child?"
"I-I.. I'm Ishi.." She mumbled quietly, still crying quietly. "I-I don't know how I got here. I fell asleep with my big brother last night and I woke up here.."
The man sighed slightly and crouched down beside of the girl, pulling his hat back slightly. "I am Rasa, and I am the Kage of this village. You are in Suna. Tell me, how old are you?"
"I'm six-x." She said, glancing at the red haired man.
"You're quite young, Ishi. You really have no idea where your family is?" He asked, slightly skeptical of this little girl. But then again, she was only 6 and there couldn't be much trouble she could do.
"No.. my parents died when I was younger.. and I don't know where my brother is.." She sighed, looking down at her feet. After a few minutes, a hand was placed in front of Ishi's body and the little girl glanced up slightly to see the Kazakage extending his hand to her.
"You're far too young to be out there by yourself. You will come with me for now. I'll introduce you to my children, I'm sure you guys will get along fine." He said, and Ishi slowly placed her finger tips in his hand, attempting to avoid the mouths on her hands from touching his hands.
The Kazakage helped the girl up and lead her up the stairs to where his children's rooms were, knocking on each one as he passed by. As he walked, his children fell in line behind of him, following him to a living room area. Once in the living area, Rasa sat Ishi on a couch and then looked at his children.
"Children, this is Ishi. She was abandoned by her family, and left outside during the sand storm. With no idea how long this storm will last, I am allowing her to stay with us. Ishi, this is Temari." He said, pointing to a little girl with cute blonde piggy tails. The girl smiled and waved at Ishi slightly.
"Hi!" Temari said, looking at Ishi who hid behind her blonde bangs slightly.
"That is Gaara." Rasa said with a colder tone to his voice, but the little red headed boy just smiled at his father, a small blush forming over his cheeks as he gave a nervous wave.
"And that is Kankuro." The Kage finished, pointing to the little boy with brown hair who gave her a slightly cockly smile for a child, nodding at her slightly. "Children, make her feel welcomed. Understood?" All of the kids nodded, before they watched their father leave.
"So how old are you, Ishi?" Temari asked, sitting up beside of the girl. Ishi glanced over at her slightly, and gave her a shy smile.
"I'm six." She replied, and the blonde girl smiled, pointing at her little red headed brother.
"You're close to Gaaras age, he's 5." she said, and Gaara only glanced at Ishi with a small nod of his head. She couldn't tell what was wrong with Gaara, but he didn't seem too fond of other people. He was shy and seemed fairly hurt by the world around him, and it made Ishi feel sad and pity towards him.
"Yeah, maybe you guys could be friends!" Kankuro said, and Ishi gave a shy smile, nodding slightly.
Ishi didn't know why, but she felt like this could be a place for her to stay, somewhere where she found safe and like at home. And for a moment, she forgot that her brother had abandoned her, and that she was alone.
Because these three made her feel somewhere she hasn't felt like she had been in forever.
Home.
