The next morning I woke Khaila up before Jada, and me and her got dressed. Me and her were gonna meet up with Nicole and her kids for a little play date.
I did Khaila's hair the best I could, and I think I did a pretty good job on her hair and her outfit.
Khaila had texted me this morning, telling me she had got the test results, I responded saying that we should have a date and bring both of our kids so they could get to know each other, and I'd get the results and read them when I got home.
Just as we were about to leave after I finished writing a note for Jada, she caught our attention by clearing her throat.
"Where are you taking my daughter?"
I turned around,"Oh, heyyy Jada. You look lovely this morning." I smiled. She placed her hands on her hips,"Justin. What're you doing?"
"Me and Khaila were just gonna go out for a little minute, right, sweetie?"
"Yes," she nodded eagerly.
"Where are y'all going?"
"Just to eat some breakfast."
"Oh, can I come?"
"I uh," I scratched the back of my neck,"Don't think that's a good idea."
"Why not?"
"Cause it's a date..." I said awkwardly. "With?"
"Me and Nicole. She kinda invited me and I thought I'd bring Khaila." This was awkward.
"Oh," she said,"um okay."
"Sorry --"
"No," she waved her hand dismissively,"It's fine. Really. Just make sure you let me know in advance next time, okay?"
I nodded. Jada bent over and beckoned Khaila over to her with her finger,"Come give mama a kiss," she smiled at her. Khaila grinned and ran over to Jada, giving her a big hug.
"Bye mommy. I love you," she pecked her mother's lips. "Love you more, baby. Be good, okay?"
She nodded and ran over to me, and together we walked out the door.

Nicole greeted me with a smile when she opened the door for us. "Hey!" She smiled and gave me and Khaila hugs. "Hi," I wanted to peck her cheek or something, but it didn't seem appropriate with her two sons behind her.
