Tracy's POV

I looked at my schedule: First period- band, Mr. Newman. Dang it! I forgot to bring my flute! Oh well, no doubt they would have some that belonged to the school for students to borrow.

I folded my schedule back up and put it in my pocket. I started walking down the crowded hallway to the band room.

"Tracy, nice to see you again!" Said Mr. Newman. He was the band teacher for the entire high school, and he had had me in his class for 3 of the 4 years I'd been in band. I didn't take band my freshman year, I took choir, but I realized I was a horrible singer and switched to band in my sophomore year.

"You too," I said. I took my seat in the flute section, and waited for class to start.

"Hello everyone and welcome to band! Most of you have been in this class before, but for those of you that haven't, I'm Mr. Newman and thank you for joining the band!" He continued on with the sane introduction he did every year, then called roll, and when he asked if anyone needed to borrow an instrument for the day I raised my hand.

After all that was done, we started playing. We started off with the Star Spangled Banner, which in all the football games we played at would be accompanied by the choir's singing.

We played more songs that didn't really have official titles, just songs that Mr. Newman wrote, and then just like that first period was over.
