Mistake

Chapter 6

"Hey Violet!" Joseph says embracing me in a hug. I had decided to go to the hiking trail and now already regretting it considering the sight of him makes me wanna throw up. I move out of his embrace. "So, uh, why did you call me up here?"  I ask. "I wanted to tell you something." I put my hands up. "Of all places to tell me something you want to tell me here?!" I'm getting annoyed. "I'll tell you now so you can just go. Look, You know I really do love you as a friend, right?" I nod, unsure of where this is going. "Okay well I met somebody. Her name is Ginger. I told her about everything and she understands. She likes me for who I am, you know Vile? She uh, said if you need anything she will get it for you." I curse so loud people stop and stare. "Seriously?!" I yell. "Joseph, you asked me to come all the way up here just to tell me that you have a new girlfriend and that she will help me if I need her? Gee, thanks, sadly she sounds more of father than you do!" I breathe for a moment. When I glance back at Joseph, he looks hurt, and I feel kinda bad. "Look, I'm gonna go. Congradulations for leaving me for another girl, and then dragging me all the way up here to tell me." I walk away and he grabs my arm. "Vile, I didn't mean to hurt you." "Well Joseph you did! Badly! I mean did you think that calling me all the way up here would fix things? It didn't, it made things worse. I came up here because I thought YOU were gonna step up and help me. I was wrong." I snatch away not looking back. Joseph called me a couple of times but I ignored him. Nice birthday present Joseph, nice. When I get home, Josephs mother's car is in the driveway and I panic. I'm ready to run when she comes out and says. "No one is home." I bite my lip and ask. "Why are you here?" She looked sad. "I brought you some food, I thought you probably would like midnight snacks." I cocked my head. "Um, thanks." I was so throwing that out later. "Look, Violet, I'm so sorry for how I reacted. It was completely out of line. I'm so sorry." She grabbed me and hugged me. I began to cry, and cry, and cry. "I know what you are going through." She whispered. Did your boyfriend leave you when you got pregnant. I thought to myself. I wiped my eyes, accepted the food and said thank you. "You're welcome, Happy Birthday." She said getting in her car. I went in the house, ate and then went to bed. The next day when I go to school, everything is so bad. I walk into English and everyone is laughing at me. Shelby, a mean girl in most of my classes is laughing and looking at me. I put my head down and then she knocks on my desk. I look up and she says, "Hey, Slut."
