Even when the weather got colder my swimming club always found away to hold a competition. I was nervous because if I did badly in this gala I wouldn't have a chance to go to SA Champs. I sighed breathing in and out slowly. There's only one person who could calm me (and increase the pace of my heartbeats) and since he ways miles away I had only his voice a picture to keep me calm.
He's amazing voice started singing to me and I stared at my wallpaper as it was him.
".....Where do we go? We don't know
Follow the wind where it blows
Let's make mistakes and don't look back, it's now or neverOne of those nights we felt invincible
And every glass was full,
One of those nights
One of those nights, dancing in the stars
Thought that the world was ours,
One of those nightsI wanna hold on tight to a little of this
The kinda night you don't want to miss
Time of our lives,
One of those nights...""Please tell me that smile is for me and not that Mendes guy of yours," Peter said taking a seat beside me.
My fear's my nightmare, my dream's Shawn my in between is you and since I've had a taste of my nightmare and I'll never get a taste of my dream, I'm stuck with you."
"Harsh," he replied.
I hummed in agreement.
"Hey did you see how Veronica treated Pablo after she learned he was the foreman on the ranch. Like how dare she slap him? He was trying to explain but she kept stoping him and flirting with him. Plus she's engaged to another man like WT..."
We continued talking about the tv series we were watching together. A Passion for Revenge. We continued talking about rubbish until I was called. As for revenge I was to swim all the events except breaststroke events because I sucked at that stroke. But I still had to do the medleys though.
I was going to drown today.
"Sams Moke!"
I don't know why but they all make that mistake I took my seat on the white plastic chair as I waited patiently. Lane number 7 my lucky number because it's a flipped over tick mark. I was starting with backstroke for a race. 50m, 100m and 200m for the individual strokes but only 200m and 400m for medleys and relays.
It was finally my swimming heat, since their was a lot of girls in my age group swimming the organizers had to arrange heats.
I took off my heavy jacket. The cold air biting my skin. If I hadn't warmed up getting into the water would have been a big problem. The official blew his whistle and we all moved to the edge of the pool. He blew his whistle again and we jumped into the water. This pool was cold. I grabbed the ledge thing on the starting block with both hands and brought my feet up the official walked to the edge of the pool checking everyones feet making sure it was at the correct position. He raised his flag.
"Ready!"
Hell naw. Wait my goggles--Are on. Neve--
I hate pre swimming fears.
The beep sent us off and I pushed against the wall and dove into the water (I had the arch my back to do that). In the streamline position I kicked butterfly kicks and when I reached the surface I started kicking and pulling the water with my arms. Swimming on my back wavers difficult. I would end up on the sides because I couldn't swim straight. I would get disqualified if I used my arms to pull me on the ropes. When I touched the wall I had to touch it on my back. That race was over and once we were given permission we clambered out of the pool my body was sore but I was cold and wet and I wanted to dry up.
