"!
Sky by night,
Chapter 1
Mirry sat there, dumb struck.
How could this be?
Sky lay there on the floor, looking so still and peaceful. Strange, she d never seen him like that.
Sky? she asked in a trembling voice.
Sky baby, answer me? You re scaring me!"
He lay there staring blankly- staring upwards.
His hair was strangely bluish in this light, the tips of it a colour that matched his name. The ends that hung down were splayed around his face in a dark frame, his white irises glazed. Mirry always hated looking at him when she knew he was staring right through her...he used to do that to her all the time.
"Sky?" she was trembling. "Answer me you sick bastard this isn't funny!"
"Okay," answered a voice from the floor "I know you hate it when I mess with you."
"Sky?" she gasped "you sick fucker this is your idea of a freaking joke? Lying here on the floor surrounded in... what the hell is that anyway?"
"Oh Mirry don't worry it's not my blood..."
"It's not yours? So it's someone else's?!? Oh my god Sky what the hell did you do?"
"Of course it's not mine you idiot you know I don't bleed that much!"
"Oh I'm sorry you psychotic fuckhead when you see your best friend lying on the floor you kind of forget that sort of stuff. So whose fucking blood is it- What the hell have you done now?"
"Harmless bit of fun never hurt anyone,"
"Well then where the hell did the blood come from?"
"Mirry don't get mad..." sky looked at her pleadingly. She gestured grudgingly for him to continue. "It's Ash's blood."
"It's what?!?" screamed Mirry "What the fuck did you do to him? Oh shit sky! You know I can't usually deal with anything more than cuts and scrapes." Mirry sighed deeply and shuddered. "So where's the body?"
"Oh Mirry sweetheart... you know I wouldn't kill just for fun." Sky chuckled "Stupid little girl I only kill when I have to kill, you know that."
"So what the fuck happened to Asher then?"
"He started mouthing off so I shoved Stanley at him, don't know what made me do it. Stanley is nothing, I should have used someone stronger. Saber or Klein at least." He went off in to a day dream, but Mirry brought him crashing down.
"Well I'm fucking glad you didn't. Honestly I've told you that Saber and Klein are dangerous. And I know he's not as dangerous, but Stanley? I told you to put him away for a bit."
"oh Mirry, Stanley was just helping with work. Just a couple of projects for college..."
"Sky, how did you do this much damage with a Stanley knife?"
"He just kept struggling...how could I have guessed he was a bleeder?" Mirry looked at him, horror in her eyes. "Don't worry, I healed him up and he...err...forgot quite quickly."
"Stupid bastard I told you before other people can't handle your friends, some of them cant even handle Stanley."
"Aw Mirry" giggled Sky. "Stupid girl. I just said I don't kill...not really."
"So where are your friends?"
"They were speaking too loudly... I locked them in their room."
"May I see?"
Sky got up and took a key from around his neck and unlocked a room, leaving the door shut.
Mirry walked forward and turned the handle. Closing her eyes, she walked in.
She closed the door behind her.
She opened her eyes. The shine was blatant and Mirry felt so calm in here! She knew every single one of these friends of sky, knew them personally.
She went to greet her favourites Klein, Saber, Anja, Jetta, and the triplets. She knew them all so well. Her and sky were the only ones who could tell the triplets apart. Not many people knew that Spike was most nimble, Shy was silent and most precise in aim and Flash like his name was fastest of all, whilst he did always seem to go lower than his mark he would get there in half a second.
Klein was very feminine and pretty, quite small with a jewel at the base of her neck.
Saber was large and whilst being a little clumsy, she could certainly do a lot of damage.
Anja was a pretty Swedish model, but her looks were deceiving, she was sharp and swift. She was sky's best friend.
And then there was Jetta. She was undeniably beautiful, so thin and tall, so dark yet some how she seemed to glow. She and Mirry had a special relationship, they had been through a lot together. After a few girls had roughed up Mirry, Jetta joined her and helped her out. Saved her life. Mirry had always been particularly fond of her.
She picked up Jetta and spun her around,
She sang delightfully as she cut through the air.
"Turn, turn, why don't you take me out anymore? It's been so long and I've missed the night air."
"Ask sky, you know I can't take you out as much as I'd like to," replied Mirry.
"You know sky doesn't listen to me! Oh come on? Old time's sake and all that crap, please?"
Mirry put Jetta back on the counter and turned away from her. She opened the door and leaned out to find Sky sitting there holding Stan and cutting away at the cloth he was using to clear up ashes blood.
"Sky?" began Mirry "um is it okay, I mean, can I... I want to take out Jetta, and erm, let her loose and all that, can I?"
"Sure but try not to kill anyone I'm not so strong as to erase entire people from memories at the moment. Too much concentration and effort so no kills. A hunt is fine, but no kills."
"Sky you always forget I'm just as strong as you. I don't need you to wipe my memories anymore I can do it for myself." She said defiantly. She closed the door and walked towards the counter where Jetta was. As the door closed, she heard sky mumble to Stanley.
"Silly bitch, she needs me still, however much she denies it."
"Come on Jetta, we're going out tonight" Mirry said as she picked her up. Mirry put on her mask and dark glasses, and slotted Jetta in to a harness on her back.
"I'll be back later Sky" she called out as she left.
She put on her cloak, and stood on the balcony of Skys room, which was a fourth story flat. She turned to check Jetta.
"Ready jet?" she said.
"Jetta's always ready! Been ready since I was birthed."
Mirry got up and stood on the rail of the balcony.
"You sure?" she said. No answer came.
Mirry took that as she was saving her voice.
She stood tall, held her arms out wide and leaned forward into the night.
She dived downwards and the only noise was a single high pitched note that came from Jetta.
She just kept going, diving down and down. She had been working on this. She pulled herself upright pointed her palms to the floor and as she reached the ground, about ten feet from the floor, she concentrated with all her might. She didn't slow down, instead she just stopped a few centimetres of the ground. Floated for a few seconds, and dropped to the floor. Silent, almost cat like.
"Come on Jetta, let's have some fun."
