The Purple Apron:

You smiled as you heard your phone ding knowing that it would be Clint texting you.

Clint: Hey babe, you up for a dinner date tonight? My place at 7?

(Y/N): Sounds perfect, see you then :*

Clint: Can't wait to see your beautiful face

(Y/N): Awww, you're too sweet

Clint: That's why you love me, well that and a few other things ;)

(Y/N): OMFG Clint!

Clint: I live to drive you crazy. Anyway, I got some prep work to do, see you later gorgeous.

You smiled to yourself and shook you're head, Clint was ridiculous but that was one of his most endearing qualities. You couldn't wait for tonight and you knew exactly what you were going to wear.

*little while later*

It was now 6:45 and you decided to take one more quick look at yourself in the mirror before heading out to Clint's. You decided to wear black skinny jeans and a dark purple top, because you knew that Clint would love it. You smiled at yourself in the mirror before grabbing your purse and jacket on your way out the door. Just after you got into the car and started driving your best friend called you.

"Hey Chicca what are you up to tonight?" As she spoke you noticed that there was music in the background wherever she was.

"I'm headed over to the boy's place for a dinner date."

"Oooh, sounds like fun. Are you ordering in or is he cooking for you?"

"I don't know, to be honest I have no idea if he can even cook."

"Haven't you guys been together for like six months? Shouldn't that be something you figured out a while ago?" I laughed at her comment on the situation.

"Yeah, we just hit the sixth month mark, and I probably should have figured that out but I haven't yet. Usually when we have dinner dates we either go out, or he comes to my place and I order in or attempt to cook something half decent for him." She giggled back at me.

"Alright, well I'll let you go have fun with your boy. Go have dinner and play safe girlie, love yah!" For the second time that day I found myself shaking my head in amused exasperation.

"Love you too, don't get in too much trouble tonight."

"I make no promises." With that she hung up. The girl may be a bit crazy, but she had perfect timing. Just after finishing the conversation you pulled up to Clint's building and a couple minutes later you were up the stairs and knocking on the door. Clint rushed to the door and opened it in a flurry.

"Hey beautiful, you look amazing!" Clint said as he reached an arm around your waist, then he leaned forward and gave you a quick kiss. This of course, made you smile widely. That's when you noticed that over his jeans and t-shirt Clint was wearing an apron, a faded purple apron.

"You look like you've been cooking." I said with a smile.

"I have." He answered, then he took your hand in his and led you into his apartment. "I'm not quite done serving yet though, so why don't you take a seat and I'll grab you a glass of wine." He gave you a quick wink and walked you over to the beautifully set table. He pulled out a chair for you and you took a seat before Clint stepped into the kitchen for a minute, returning a second later with a glass of red wine. He placed on the table for you along with the bottle and leaned over to give you another quick kiss followed by a cheeky smile. "Just a couple more minutes."

"Alright." You gave him a smile and he turned back towards the kitchen. You sat at the table and watched as he finished preparing the meal. As he worked he started shaking his hips a little and you couldn't help but laugh at how adorable he was. Apparently he heard your giggle and looked over his shoulder at you. He raised an eyebrow at you which only resulted in more giggling from you, he responded by wiggling his eyebrows at you and shaking his hips even more. He was a dork, but he was your dork and you loved him. Just after this thought crossed your mind Clint removed his apron and hung it up in the corner of the room. Then he grabbed the two plates and brought them over to the table. As he placed your dinner down in front of you it registered to you that the meal he had prepared was your favorite.

"You made my favorite." You stated with a smile as he sat down and poured himself a glass of wine. He smiled back at you.

"Of course I did. Now, let's toast!" He held up his glass of wine, and you held up yours. "Here's to my gorgeous girlfriend, the sixth wonderful months we've spent together and the many that are still ahead of us." You felt your cheeks heat up as your glasses lightly touched and you both took a sip of wine. You picked up your fork and took your first bite. The minute the food was in your mouth you realized this was the best version of your favorite mea that you would ever eat.

"Oh my god Clint! This is amazing!" He smiled widely at your compliment.

"Of course it is, I've had a lot of practice." You chuckled at him.

"I can tell, it looks like you've had that apron for quite a while." He glanced toward the apron on it's hook for a second.

"Yeah, that thing is pretty old, but it's the only purple apron I've found and we both know..." he gestured to your purple top. "that purple is my favorite color." You giggled once again.

The two of you ate the amazing meal that Clint had prepared for you and he told you about his parents teaching him how to cook. It was the perfect way to celebrate your first six months together. It also inspired you to vow that all of the home cooked meals you two would eat in the future would be made by Clint. You were so happy and you loved Clint so much. As the meal came to an end Clint got up to turn on the stereo.

"What song is this?" Clint smiled at you reaching for your hand, you took it and stood up. Clint wrapped his arm around you and started swaying as he answered.

"It's the song that made me realize just how truly and deeply I'm in love with you." You teared up at this, and you kissed him passionately. The two of you stayed in wonderful comfortable silence as the song, "I Won't Let You Go" by Snow Patrol, continued to play.

*Six months later, at Christmas*

You sat next to Clint on your shared couch a wrapped box in your lap. Clint raised an eyebrow at you and you slid the package over to him.

"Open it!" You said excitedly. He started tearing at the paper and then he lifted the lid off the package. After pulling the tissue away and saw what was inside an excited smile broke across his face.

"I love it (Y/N)!" He leaned over to give you a kiss, then he removed the gift from the box. He held out his new purple apron in front of him for a second before standing up and putting it on. You smiled at him as he stood proudly in front of you. The design on the apron read "World's best archer and cook!" You had special ordered it for him and it was the best idea you'd ever had. The perfect gift for the perfect man.
