After first period class, the day went a lot quicker. All my classes behaved themselves... Except that one girl In first period.

"Misty Felix." I said aloud, pointing to her name on the new seating chart. I had put her next to a boy named Thomas Eckhart, in the front of the class. The other teachers informed me that Thomas was a good kid, and would keep her out of trouble.

"Misty Felix... You Are going to be sorry you ever messed with me." I said with a grin.

I looked At the clock, 4:30. Time to go home. I left my room and locked the door behind me, then made my way down the hall to exit the school. On my way to the door, I accidentally dropped my jacket. When a bent down to pick it up, I heard a voice echo through the hall.

"Need any help with that?"

"No I'm quite alright, thank you." I responded, unknowing who had said that. I turned to see who the voice was coming from, and discovered a skinny, black haired man approaching me. I gawked at his flawless pale skin and glasses similar to mine. Suddenly I couldn't find my words. "Oh well um..." I cleared my throat. "Hello." I said with a slight wave of my hand. He was 5 steps away from me now. 4...3...2...

"Hi! You're the new science teacher... Ms.Berti, right?" he said holding out a hand.

I continued to stare. "that's correct." I responded, shaking his hand.

"Well I'm Mr.Vess, the math teacher. I've been meaning to introduce myself to you. Oh and you don't have to call me Mr.Vess... That's just what I'm used to introducing myself as... You know, with the students." He let go of my hand and casually put them in his pockets. I wished he'd kept holding my hand, but I pushed the thought away immediately. After all, we weren't allowed to date coworkers. Wait... What the hell was I even thinking?! Dating!? I've only just met this guy and now I'm thinking about-

"My first name is actually Derek." He said, brining me back to reality.

I cleared my throat and nervously said, "My name is Alice, and my friends call me Al." friends... I let the word linger in my mouth, because I only had one true friend.

"Thats a lovely name... Alice." Derek responded with a smirk. "it was great meeting you Al... May I walk you to your car?"

My cheeks flushed red. "No... That's ok thank you... I'm fine walking by myself!" I said with a smile and began walking away. Since I was still looking back at Derek I ran into a trash can and almost fell into it. "Dammit Al..." I murmured to myself. I awkwardly adjusted my glasses and inhaled deeply. Dammit dammit dammit.

"Well... see you around!" Derek said, walking back to his classroom. I turned to the door and let out a deep sigh. Way to go Al.

I began walking out the building again, avoiding the trash can for a smooth walk out. I slid my jacket on and opened the door to fell the cool breeze rush in from the outside. I reached in my pocket and groped for my keys. My thumb slid over the ridges of my car key and I pulled them out of my pocket. My unmistakable, deep purple car was in the best possible parking space. I walked over to it, hopped in the drivers seat, put my key in the ignition, and turned it to hear the engine purr beneath me. I wrapped my hands around the steering wheel and eased my foot on the gas pedal. I loved this car so much sometimes it scared me.

I pulled up to my apartment building and parked in front of the door. Wow, I'm having great luck with parking today... I opened the doors and smelled the musty air rush to my nose. I loved this building too. I made my way up to my own apartment and sorted through my keys to find my apartment key. Shit... I left in in the car.

"Mandy?" I pounded on our door for my room mate. "I forgot my key again!"

"Just a minute!" Mandy responded, her voice muffled. The door was swung open moments later by my room mate, spraying cool whip in her mouth and looking rather tired and bored. "Hey!" Mandy said, perking up. "how was school?"

I rolled my eyes and stepped in the apartment. "Work was fine today, I met this really nice guy and his classroom is near me too... Wait, are those my shorts?" I asked, pointing to the mint green knit shorts she was wearing. Instead of answering, Mandy sprayed more cool whip in her mouth and shut the door behind me.

"I'm not obliged to answer that." Mandy responded with a smirk.

"alright... Whatever." I rolled my eyes again. "anyways, I met this guy, his name is Derek."

"Ooooohh!" Mandy teased me by puckering her lips. I gave her an annoyed look, but she ignored me and waltzed over to the couch. I eyed the cool whip canister in her hand.

"I'm gonna go change, save some cool whip for me!" Then I went to my room to get out of the itchy skirt and stiff blazer I was forced to wear for my first day. When I came out of my room again I was wearing purple sweatpants and a light blue shirt that said 'star wars' on it. Mandy was now chomping on some potato chips and left the canister in the seat next to her on the couch.

"Whatcha watching?" I asked sitting down. Mandy didn't reply because her mouth was full, so she just pointed at the screen. I shrugged and picked up the cool whip. We watched TV for hours and I told her about the brat in my class misty and about the rest of my day. But when I mentioned misty didn't have a joy buzzer, Mandy got freaked out and went to bed

"Oh that's really weird." she said quickly in response. "I'm getting tired now how about you?" Mandy then jogged to her room and quietly shut the door behind her. It began to make me think... There was something odd about those girls, Both of them...
