Chapter 3
I woke up to a horrible beeping noise that wouldn't go away. What the hell kind of robot was dying!? I groaned and sat up, rubbing my eyes. The alarm clock read 7:20, shit! I only had a half hour to get ready, school started at 8:00, it's a good thing my dad was driving me today. I got out of bed and rifled through one of my many boxes labeled 'clothes'. I found one of my favorite shirts right away, that was lucky. It was a faded mint green and it had a grey print that said "Revive Rock n' Roll". I found a pair of grey and black striped shorts and put them on, along with my favorite pair of maroon low top converse. I always wore my favorite necklace, which was a locket with roses on it, there were no pictures inside of it though. I have never had a picture important enough to keep next to me. The necklace had been my mother's, and she left it behind when she left. I brushed my hair, but didn't bother doing anything else with it. My makeup was always the same, a thin line of top eyeliner, black of course, mascara, and lipgloss.
I found my bag, a grey hobo purse, and my phone, which like a normal teenager, I always had with me. I walked up to my dad, who was eating bacon, drinking orange juice, and writing on his blog. "Dad, are you ready to go? School starts in ten minutes, i don't want to be late for the first day." I really didn't want to be late for the first day, It was the day everyone seemed to notice you anyway, being late wouldn't help with that.
"Sure sweetie, let me finish this sentence." My dad was tapping away on his laptop, and then he closed it and looked up at me. "Ready." He got up and went to the kitchen counter and grabbed his keys. I followed him out the door and got into the passenger side of his '74 chevy truck. This truck wasn't the nicest truck, but my dad loved it, it was like his hobby, besides his writing. He loved working on it, which is good because it always needed a lot of work.
"Dad.." I said cautiously, "do you have any idea where we are going?"
"Sure honey, I'm going to your school." He said that unsure, I looked at him questioningly. "Don't look at me like that, honey, I have never been there!" I sighed, I was so going to be late.
We had finally found our way to the school, and I was already seven minutes late, my dad had to go into the office and sign me in. It's a good thing I my first class was close, even though it wouldn't stop me from walking into a class full of people staring at me.
And sure enough, I walked into the classroom, late slip in hand, and every person in there had their eyes on me. I walked over to the teacher's desk to give them the late slip. My first class was English 3, with a Mr. Brant. Mr. Brant was a large old man with white hair, and a white beard. He was wearing a plaid shirt and khakis. I handed him my late slip, and looked around the room while he was signing it. I noticed Kyle in the back of the room, smirking at me, there was an empty desk next to him. Oh gosh, please don't let me sit next to him. At the front of the room sat Lilah, the persistent blond from the other day. On either side of her were skinny girls with minimal clothing. I had to respect her though, she was herself, you could tell that much, she definitely wasn't just another wolf in the pack, she was alfa. She looked up at me, and gave me a huge smile, wiggling her fingers at me. I turned back to Mr. Bant, who had just finished writing on my late slip, and handed it back to me. Please don't announce me to the class, please, please, please... "Class, this is Danielle Stevens, she is new here. Danielle, you may sit in the second row behind Lilah."
Lilah looked pleased at my seat assignment, but I was not particularly, as it meant attempted conversation with her. The seat also just happened to be two in front of Kyle, and those two seats weren't occupied. I sat down as instructed, as I didn't want to cause problems, or get in trouble on the first day of school, for me. As soon as I sat down Lilah turned around to talk to me, "Oh my gosh, I love your outfit, it's way cute!" She was very loud, and completely turned around in her seat, I was surprised she wasn't getting in trouble. I looked at her shirt, it was a Metallica shirt cut into a tank top, she had on pale pink shorts, and brown leather flip flops. "So anyway, don't turn around, but Kyle is totally staring at you." I rolled my eyes and out my face in my hands
