I tried not to think about him on the way home, but it was hard. When we arrived home, Melody was sleeping. I parked the car and carried her out to house. I carried her to her room and putted her in bed kissing her forehead.
I walked to my room, took of my shoes and sat on bed. I couldn’t believe I saw him. After all these years. I went to my closet and took a box and sat back on bed. That box was full of memories. I took the photo album from that box and looked through it when Melody opened door of my room. ‘’Mommy’’ she looked at me a bit scared. ‘’Yes honey?’’ I said as I putted the photo album on bed. ‘’I had a bad dream. Can I sleep with you.’’ ‘’You don’t need to ask me that. Come here.’’ She jumped on bed and sat next to me.
‘’What are you doing .’’ She said and looked at box. ‘’What’s that?’’ I looked at her. ‘’That?..Those are just some of my stuff.’’ She took the photo album. ‘’Can I look at this?’ I nodded. And started looking through the photo album once again, but this time with Melody. She looked at photos carefully, and all I could think of was him but then Melody’s voice interrupted me. ‘’Who is this mommy?’’ she asked as she looked at photos. ‘’Who is this boy on this photos?’’
‘’I..uhm..’’ I knew that she would ask me this eventually, but I didn’t know what to tell her. ‘’He is my friend. We saw him today.’’ She smiled. ‘’Will we see him again?’’ I shrugged and looked at clock. ‘’come on sweetie, let’s go to sleep.’’
I putted the album back in box and putted box on floor near bed. She already laid on bed, I laid next to her and kissed her cheek.
‘’Good night sweetie pie.’’
‘’Night mommy.’' She said as she covered herself with quilt.
*next morning*
‘’Mommy. Mommy..’’
I woke up. ‘’Yes Mel’’ I said as I looked at clock. ‘’What is it?’’
‘’Your phone was ringing’’ She yawned. ‘’And woke me up’’
‘’ooh Sweetie. Well it’s almost 11am.’’ I took the phone. ‘’And I have to go to work in an hour. But you can stay in bed if you want.’’ I looked at my phone I had a message and a missed call. It was from him.
Message: Hey. Wanna go to coffee today? (: x
I left my phone on bed and got ready for work. The door bell rang.
‘’Auntie is hereee!!’’ Melody yelled as she jumped out of bed and ran downstairs. I took my phone and went downstairs after her.
‘’Morning Vivviane’’ She said smiling.
‘’Good morning Alicia’’ I said as I took my jacket and car keys. ‘’Ali, I will come later home today. If it’s okay with you?’’
‘’Sure Viv..Take your time.’’ She walked to kitchen.
Melody came to me. ‘’See you later mummy.’’ She said and kissed me.
‘’See you sweetie. Be nice’’ I kissed her and walked out. I sat in car and drove to work. I texted him back.
