You woke up on the floor, gasping for air. I always woke up like this when I got that dream. My eyes were rimmed in tears, but I furiously wiped them away and got up. I looked at the clock to see that I still had another hour till I had to get ready for work.
I got up and started a pot of coffee instead of my normal cup or two. When ever I woke up like that I could always tell it was going to be a pot of coffee day rather than a cup of coffee day. In other words, today was going to be rough. I clicked the t.v off because I had a nasty headache, probably from falling off the window seat. Once the coffee was done brewing I poured myself a mug. After downing that I walked into my bedroom to get changed for the day.
Once dressed I went into the kitchen and put some Eggo waffles into the toaster and drank another cup of coffee waiting, and yet another with breakfast. By that time I still had 45 minutes till I had to leave. I slipped on my coat and grabbed my purse and a book and headed out into the cold.
Instead of walking to Clare's Diner, where I worked, I headed to the park so I would sit and read for a little while before going into work. I brushed off a bench and started reading (fave./book). I really wish I could stay there all day and read, but a half an hour later I had to go to work.
The workday started as usual, nothing too bad. When I got off for lunch, things just started going downhill. First I tripped walking back to work and twisted my ankle. Then I stubbed my toe twice and work, spilled three drinks, and ripped my skirt. When my shift ended I was exhausted. I trudged home, thinking about the chili in my fridge. I made a quick stop at the store to pick up the ingredients for cornbread muffins then I continued the walk home.
Halfway home, I was feeling miserable, and it started to snow. A snowflake landed on my nose and I brushed it away quickly. But for some reason after that, I couldn't stop smiling. I even giggled a little at one point.
I got home and unlocked the door. I flipped the light on, shut the door, and took my shoes off. I dropped the groceries off in the kitchen and went to my bedroom to change into something more comfortable.
I was reading my book when I walked into the living room to turn on the news.
"Hello, dear." I looked up frightened and dropped my book in shock. There was a man standing by the window.
"Who, who are you?" He laughed.
"Why, I am Pitch Black, the one and only." I looked into his eyes and I would see my worst nightmares, the one when I couldn't save my sister appeared the most.
"What do you want?" I said, trying to make my voice steady, but failing.
"Why, my dear (y/n), I want you." He outstretched his hand and before I could react I was surrounded in some sort of black dust and drifting off to sleep.
A/N: Like I promised, here is the on time part. Thank's for being patient and sticking with me.
