It had been three days since I cheered (y/n) up after her bad day, and I hadn't seen her since. I wasn't worried until today. I was freezing the town when I came across a posted that had "MISSING" written across the top. When I looked at the picture, it was none other than (y/n).
I was worried then, but it wasn't the only time (y/n) had run off. Sometimes she would just need to get away from her life and she would go hide somewhere for a few days, so I figured that's what happened.
Later that day I saw the signal from North to come to the North Pole. I immediately set off, wondering what would be going on now.
"Jack! So glad you would make it, mate." Bunny said as I flew in the window. I just rolled my eyes.
"It's not like I can get here instantly." I retorted back to him.
"Boys! We have more pressing issues than how fast we can get here." Tooth said, fluttering between us.
"He started it." I commented before walking over to lean on the wall. Bunny glared at me, but didn't say a word.
"Anyway, Tooth has a very important announcement." We all looked towards her. "Go ahead Tooth," North pushed.
"Well, I never saw anything myself, but Baby Tooth says Pitch is back."
"Crikey!" Bunny jumped three feet into the air. My jaw dropped. Back? I thought he wasn't coming back.
"Are you sure it was Pitch?" Tooth nodded.
"She never actually saw him, but the entrance was a dead ringer to last time." Tooth bit her lip before continuing. "That's not it, either. Baby Tooth said she would hear screams from inside. A girl's screams." Nobody said anything. We were all in shock. None of us ever thought Pitch would go as far as to kidnap another spirit.
"We need to contact every spirit out there. We know it's not one of the Guardians because we're all here, but it could be one of the non-guardians." They all got to work immediately.
"I think I'll check it out. Baby Tooth, want to show me where the entrance is?" She nodded and landed on my shoulder.
"Be careful, mate." Bunny told me, not looking up.
"He's right. There's no telling what Pitch might do now." I nodded.
"I'll be fine. I've handled him before." With that, I took off.
It was Pitch's lair all right.
The broken bed frame was even there.
"You stay up here, can't lose you again." I whispered to Baby Tooth. She didn't argue. With that, I slid down the hole.
I landed silently on the stone floor. I crept along the sides, making sure to stay silent and hidden in the shadows. Then it came, the scream that Baby Tooth had described. I continued toward the sound. I was about to turn a corner when I saw him, Pitch.
His back was to me and it didn't seem like he sensed me there. Whoever he had was laying on some table in front of him.
"If you hold still, it doesn't hurt as much." The girl said something, but I couldn't hear her. Pitch picked up a knife from the table and cut what seemed to be the girl's side, then he summoned his black sand and he encased her side, then she started screaming. As I watched, the sand sunk into her side.
I was horrified. I couldn't believe what was happening before my eyes. I wanted to step in and help, but I didn't want to get caught. Besides, my friends were expecting me to come back. I was about to leave, but something stopped me dead in my tracks.
"Her room is ready, father." A girl entered the room. She looked like a normal human, black mini skirt, black sleeveless top, short, choppy gold blond hair.
"Okay, Lucky. I think she's had enough today." Pitch untied the girl and picked up her limp body and walked into the direction Lucky had come from. When Lucky went to follow them, I cought a glimps of her bright green eyes, but she didn't see me. After that, I beat it out of there.
"What did you find?" Tooth came up to me as soon as I flew into the workshop.
"Well," I wasn't sure how to begin. "It is Pitch. And he has help." I couldn't go on because the image of Pitch taking the knife and cutting the girl wouldn't leave.
"Who is it? Did you catch a name?" Tooth edged me on, sensing my reluctance.
"Uh, Lucky. She called Pitch her father, but that's all I know." Everyone was looking at me. "That's all I know!" I shouted at them and flew off. I didn't know where I was going until I was standing by Julia's sister's grave. I slumped to the ground, thinking about what I saw. I should've stepped in to help, but I didn't. I didn't know what to do. i looked up to the moon, just realizing it was night.
"What do I do, Manny? What's going on?"
A/N: Hey guys, hope you like this chapter. It's kind of long compared to my other one's, but it all kind of goes together and it didn't feel like it could be broken up. ALSO I'm taking away Arachnophobia, I will still update on it, but it's way too hard to update regularly since it is an original. That means I need a NEW story idea and I want your input. Please put a fan fiction idea (it can honestly be anything as long as I know what it is) in the comments. I'll also be posting this on my page.
Anyway, please leave a vote, comment, or follow, all are appreciated, thanks for reading and I'll see you on Wednesday for Overtale!
