The guards took the clockwork Princess, flying-boy, the quantum mechanical cat and the rat and put them in the prison. They were all tied up like a round ball of wool in rope.
Even the rat and the cat were wrapped up like two breathing yo yos and left next to each other. Both were tied up so well that the cat could do nothing to the rat and were just left propping each other up.
'So rat, your so clever, why didn't the real princess want to leave?' the cat snarled.
'It was all the real Princesses plan all along. She had the idea of running away and she got Caligari to help her. He made the clockwork Princess to stop everyone from finding out. But she got him to do it' the rat explained.
The cat bent over and opened his mouth to show his fangs. His breath smell like a hundred nightmares waking you up at night.
'And you fear me' said the cat.
The rat pulled a face as if the cat had bad breath.
'I don't fear you' the said the rat 'I just hate you'
'You just hate me why?' the cat asked curiously.
'You killed my mother, my farther, twelve of my brothers and eighteen of my sisters. I am the only one of my family left and I was trapped in a library for years because of you. Thank you for asking about my pain'
'Pain you no nothing of pain' the cat said 'your out one day chasing a brown and black mouse and you suddenly find your self caught in a trap by a passing physicist. Your taken from your home and your family, your warm wood fire. Then your subject to all kinds of experiments and you end up put into a box cut off from the outside world with a bottle poison gas controlled by a radio active radium atom. You don't know if you will live or die. That's pain. Then when you emerge you can no longer be in one place at once. All the other cat's laugh at you. You can't even eat without having to get someone watch at you. Then your paraded like some kind of new toy around all the courts in Europe. When all that's happened to you then you tell me about pain'
'Oh' said the rodent scholar with the genuine sound of discovery in his voice.
