"Yeeesss! Didn't I say from the start of the game that I had it in the bag?" I laugh loudly.
"Ok, ok, I think someone has had one too many drinks..." Alex jokes while standing behind me as a wall of muscle to support me if I'm unsteady at all.
"Nah, I'm fine. I just kick ass at pool." I say cockily, stuffing my right hand into the back pocket of my dark blue jeans and resting the other on the edge of the pool table.
"Well let's see how true that is with another game then. You're up Pat." Alex says waving Patrick over to the table.
Patrick is a tall brown haired guy with a deep, no nonsense voice. He used to scare me, but now I know he's just a big Ol' teddy bear.
"Things are about to get real." Patrick says grinning at me while he wanders over to the table.
"I might sit this one out, you boys play this time." I say stepping back and handing my cue to Alex.
"Where's the confidence gone? You afraid Patty will beat you?" Alex laughs.
"No, never, I just don't want to embarrass him. I wanna make sure he keeps his manhood intact." I smirk and shuffle over to the girls who are leaning against a wall nearby.
I'd decided to pull out and see how Alyssa and Justine are going after I'd looked over a few times and saw them standing in silence, watching us play pool. It looked awkward as hell, I thought maybe it was getting uncomfortable for them. I hadn't expected this at all, I thought the two of them would be fine together. Seeing as it's not the first time we have been out together, I guess the other times I had been with them the whole time to keep them talking to one another.
"Hey... What's going on over here then?" I say sidling up beside Justine and looking around the dimly lit bar.
"Not a lot. Just watching you guys play pool." Justine says, one hand fidgeting with the hem of her black top and the other cradling her beer.
I glance at Alyssa who says, "Yep. Drinking and watching you guys."
Alyssa is wearing a white dress with a belt to give her extra shape and sky high black wedges.I quirk an eyebrow. "While that's riveting and all, I thought we might go grab some fresh drinks, maybe do some shots? Liven you two up maybe?" I elbow Alyssa playfully.
"Sure." She shrugs.
"Come on then." I push off the wall and begin walking in the direction of the bar.
I look behind me and find both girls snaking through the crowd of people towards the bar too. I've got to loosen these girls up. They have been quiet and a little boring to be frank.
Finding room enough for the three of us to stand by the bar, I flag down a bartender and order 3 fireballs.
Turning to the girls who are on my left, I say, "How about a toast?"
Alyssa shrugs and Justine nods, I take this as a go ahead and lift my glass up. "To being on top of your game and taking no shit from anyone!" I throw back my head and down the shot.
"Another round please." I say to the bartender who immediately refills our shot glasses. "Your turn Jussy." I grab my glass again and wait for her to speak.
"Umm....To kickin' ass and lockin' up bad guys!" She raises the glass to her lips and throws the liquor back swiftly, gritting her teeth when she finishes the shot.
I notice Alyssa eye roll heavily before drinking her own. I frown at her once before I follow suit and return my glass to the bar saying, "Again please." I have a bit of a foul taste in my mouth after Alyssa's reaction but pay no heed to it.
