Sam's PoV

Who the hell does he think he is? There is no way in hell we're going back to that shit mountain!

I march back to the cell and pace around a lot, glaring at everything.

Chris looks at me "Sam... Are you uh... You okay?" He asks, confused why I am walking around.

"Oh I'm just fucking peachy." I growl. He gets the message and shuts up. I sigh and sit down, suppressing the thought that flooded my mind.

"She's bitten! She can turn into one of them! We have to stop her!" Mike says as he raises his gun, aiming in between Emily's eyes.

I step in, not wanting us to turn on each other. "You don't know that! She could be fine!" I shout.

"Could be! She also COULD BE A MONSTER!" Mike yells stubbornly. Ashley was looking through a book as we continued our argument.

Mike sighs "Step aside, Sam.." Mike says, much calmer.
I shake my head. "I'm not letting you do this.." I protest. He sighs "Fine." He pushes me aside and shoots Emily, right in the eye...

Mike looks at me "Sam.... Sam.... Sam....?"

"Earth to Sam!" Mike says. I look at him. "H-huh?" I ask. He looks at me with a concerned expression.
"You were crying. Well, kind of. You just sat there staring at the wall for like ten minutes." Mike explains. Now that he mentioned it my face is all wet. They were all staring at me, seeing a side of me they've never witnessed before.

I wipe my face and stand up. "I'm fine. I'll be even better one we're out of this cage." I state, looking through the bars so they couldn't see my face.

"Sam?" A small voice says. I turn around and see Jess, who hasn't said very much since we left. She just looks at me.. Then hugs me. I'm taken aback. Jess and I were never very close. She was always looking in a mirror or talking to Matt and Mike. I hug back after a few awkward seconds. I could practically taste the awkwardness in the room. We both let go and she sits between Mike and Matt.

I sigh and look away from them. I shove my unwanted feelings down where it can't do anything. Mike has a girlfriend. It used to be just a tiny crush.. But when push comes to shove and you survive some traumatic experience with someone, saving each other's asses.. Shit happens.
