Kim Minseok, also known as Xiumin was born in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, South Korean on March 26th 1990.
He was a student at Catholic Kwandong University where he attended a seminar and gave a presentation for students in Applied Music. Xiumin also went to the same high school as INFINITE's Dongwoo.
Xiumin learned martial arts and has a black belt in Kendo and Taekwondo. He also trained in Wushu and Fencing.
In 2008, at the age of 18, Xiumin was cast into SM Entertainment after inning 2nd place in the SM Everysing Contest. Xiumin was the 7th and oldest member to join EXO following a joint teaser with Kai on January 26th, 2012
Xiumin is part of EXO-M.
