"Eli?" I asked with a puzzled face. He walks towards me. "Wait, Eli, you need help. Medical." "I- I'm fine, I just got shot in the shoulder. I took it out, the arrow. I'm really sorry about those guys. It's all my fault, now they could be after you guys too." "It's fine.. Once we have enough guns and fighting skills we can beat them. Right?" I say. " Yeah.. Let's all just go and try to find a safe place. We don't need a community where more people can be hurt. It's just us now. I say we head to Washington D.C." We all stand there and think. " Yeah, sure. But you have to get patched up" I say. He looks at me and smiles. "I know, I know." While we walk I look up to see Jonah looking at his wrist. "Hey." As I push him slightly." What's wrong, since now we're in the same group." "Yeah, but we're not family. So leave me be." He walks away in a depressing face. "Jess, come here" as my brother asks. "What did Jonah say you?" "It's nothing, I guess his having a hard time... We all are." I casually walk beside Eli. I act like I don't see him.
Eli's P.O.V
I know she is looking at me. She can't hide it. Let me just look at her too.
Jessica's P.O.V
I look away. Maybe he didn't notice me-. " So you like looking at me?" He asked. "What.. What? No.. I just was-" "Hey, hey it's okay. I was looking at you too." He smiles and walks away. I keep thinking maybe on day me and him could be a thing. " Jess" I get interrupted while in my thoughts. "Yes." I turn around to see that Sierra and Brooks are walking beside each other. I walk up to them." Yes?" "We don't think that we should be heading to D.C." "Because of Claudia?" "Yeah" Sierra said. "Fine. I said. "But we need way more people to fight this battle." Sierra added. "What why?" Me and Brooks asked. "There's a lot more of them than you think. A new chapter... This is the new world. Get used to it."
