"Alfred, I am not going to make this decision for you." Davie spoke, tears in his eyes. He smiled onece more, and laughed, the most beautiful laugh Alfred had ever heard. "But..Either ine you choose, I'll still be with you! So no more tears, my hero!"

My hero.

That's where Alfred got his desire to be a hero from. His everlasting need to fill the empty hole in his heart, from the death of his first love. He wanted Davie so bad. But he.. after seeing such sadness, could not just abandon his new friends for an old! Oh how he hated this, he loathed the idea of having to chose between the love he needed, and the love they needed.

"Alfie...to tell you the truth...things aren't going to change."

His blue eyes met with Davie's, and he tilted his little head in confusion. The little nation was oblivious, always has been, always will be. He thought, maybe after all this, they'd finally be kind, and respect him.

Oh, how wrong the poor boy was.

"I'll let you take a peek into the future. But you can come back whenever you like." Davie placed a hand on the male's shoulder. "Life...is a cruel thing."

Before he knew it, he was sobbing self hatred again, burning fumes of anger, directed to burn himself. Davie hugged him, muttering that everything was going to be okay. Alfred hiccuped, crying more softly now. "I...I can- can't...I...Davie...Take me with you."

"..Are you sure about this?"

"Yes."

Davie smiled, and took his hand. "Well, at least you get to meet someone. Someone I've been wanting you to meet for a very, very long while." Davie began dragging Alfred with him, to a boy just a teenie bit smaller than Davie.

"Hey, Holy Rome!"

Prussia kept his head down, staring at the grave of a fallen nation. On it, was engraved "Hero."

Hero.

Yes, Alfred was a hero. Definatly.

"Take care of brother for me, okay?"

He smiled at the ghost of a man who stood before him. Alfred just laughed, his mouth reading the words "course', bro!", but no sound seemed to come out.

"Hey, Alfred.." Prussia smiled, a genuine smile. Not the usual fake smirk, but a true smile. "You're pretty awesome.
