What is a fallen hero?

A fallen hero is a hero who has taken too much damage from a villain. A hero...who failed.

I failed...

------

His eyes blinked open, but the world remain dark.

"Is this it?" He muttered aloud, "Am I...dead?"

"Not yet, shithead."

Alfred sat up in an instant, the voice suprising the young country. "W-who...?"

"It's me." The violet eyed male sat next to him. "So, it got to you too, huh?"

"What?"

"Everyone hating you...is what I meant." Alfred attempted to scoot away, but the man held him in place. "I am Matt. A different version of Matthew. In my world, I died. Not you."

Alfred stared stunned. "W...why?"

"I could ask you the same question."

Beep.....beep...beep..beep...

"Hear that?" Matt asked, placing his hand to his ear. "That's a heart moniter. We still aren't dead...yet. But from the hight we fell, it'll take alot if we wanna go back."

Alfred furrowed his brows, looking down. "Why would I want to go back?"

"I don't know. But get ready."

"Why?"

"When you die, you get to go and see how it's affecting people, how people are reacting. " He smiled. "See if...they care."

"Oh.." The room was suddenly filling with white.

"Here we go.."

His eyes opened quickly, the brightness of the room causing him to squint, eyes soon adjusting

His eyes opened quickly, the brightness of the room causing him to squint, eyes soon adjusting. He focused his eyes on a blonde male laying in a hospital bed.

Is that me?

He glanced down, eyes met with another blond male. "Mattie..." He managed to choak out, but all other words seemed to be trapped in his throat.

Matthew was sobbing into the bled, squeezing the comatose Alfred's arm. "...P...Please...someone, if you are there, please....give me my brother...I need him! I was a horrible twin.." Matthew hiccuped, "I should have noticed...I always complain about being ignored...but.."

Alfred felt tears escaping down his cheeks. "Mattie, Mattie please..." He wanted to comfort his little twin, but his body seemed to be frozen. "Ma--"

"Give my brother back!!" He screamed, inturupting Alfred. Gil came in the room, a sorrowful look on his face, as he began shaking Matthew, telling him it was time to leave. But Matthew refused. "I won't leave my brother...never again...Alllffiiiieeee..."

Gil had to drag Matthew out of the room, but before he could, Matthew managed to scream, "Dammit! Wake up, please! I need you....I...I love you, Alfie!"

Alfred froze. Matthew loved him? But who could ever love him?

The sceneary flickered, and instead of a hospital room, he was now down memory lane. A room where all of the stuff from his past was packed.

There sat Arthur, sobbing and holding onto Alfred's old, white dress he worse when he had been a child. "Oh God, Alfred....my....my little Alfie..." Arthur cried, rocking back and forth. "Please...no....don't take him..."

"A-Artie...come on, I'm fine..!" Alfred attemtped to say, "The hero is right here!"

"Don't take him...." Arthur pulled himself to sit in the criss cross position, and cradled the dress.

N...No..

"You a-are...my sunshine," He began singing, voice steadying. "My only sunshine....you make me ha-h...happy, when skies are grey. You'll never know dear, how mu...much I l-lo..love you.." Tears welled in the man's green eyes, and he mamaged to choak out the last few lyrics, before bursting into sobs, "please...don't take my sunshine..a-away..!"

Once again, the scenary flickered, and Alfred prepared himself for the next sight he'd have to face.

He walked around in a field, confused and dazed. Where the hell am I?

He felt a pat on his shoulder. "Alfred.." Alfred spun around, eyes darting everywhere. His crystel blue eyes landed on a elder man, whom was holding a familiar flower, but he just couldn't find out why it was familiar.

"Perhaps.." The man chuckled, "You'd know me better in this form."

Flower petals flew around him, and he covered his eyes- damn pollen. When he opened them, he was a child again. In a small white dress, and a red bow.

"I.." Said a confident voice from in front of him, "am Davie!"
