The Dream

Alex P.O.V.

As I'm sitting in front of my laptop the next day, I can't help but think about the other night. I'd always dreamed about meeting my favorite YouTubers, but it had never occurred to me that it would happen like that. Where had Kyle gone? How was it possible to disappear so quickly? I wanted to think that this was something new, that no other fan had had an encounter like this before, but I was pretty sure I was exaggerating.

I turn off my laptop and head to bed, exhausted by the day's events. I had a whole day of editing ahead of me tomorrow, and I wanted to rest. I'd begun filming videos when I was younger, inspired by other YouTubers, and decided to upload them. Of course I wasn't as popular as Kyle or Johnnie, but their videos and their committing fans were what motivated me to keep making videos; it had always been something I'd loved to do.

Before drifting off to sleep, I replayed the day's events through in my head. I could still see Kyle's face from the moment I'd helped him up. He seemed troubled, but then again it was probably stress. I assume he has a lot to edit as well. I feel my heavy eyelids begin to close, and before I know it, I'm fast asleep.

"Alex?"

"Kyle?" I mumble. It sounds like Kyle. I open my eyes to see Kyle standing over me. I quickly sit up and look around. I'm back at the bike trail.

"You were riding your penny board and the wheels got caught in a crease, you tripped and hit your head. Here, let me help you up."

"Huh?" I stutter. This didn't seem right. Everything sounded familiar, but it should have been the other way around. I feel Kyle grab ahold of my arms as he lifts me up.

"Where did you go last night? You disappeared."

"What are you talking about? I've never even seen you in my life."

"What do you mean?"

Kyle just looks at me, confusion written all over his face. "What's your name?"

"What's going on?" I feel dizzy, I see the trees dancing in the wind, blurring my vision. I feel lightheaded, and suddenly my feet go numb. I fall to the ground, and everything goes black again.
