Elmore park was quiet, except for the sounds of birds chirping, and squirrels squirrels chittering in the trees. Gumball and Nicole were taking a stroll in the park in the evening."Mom?" said Gumball while walking
"Yes, Gummypuss?" said Nicole while walking
"You don't mind if I hold your hand... do you?" Gumball was a little scared to think of what Nicole's reaction would be.
"Of course not, honey." said Nicole. "I don't mind at all." she gently grabbed Gumball's hand and held it in hers.
"Thanks." said Gumball. He looked around on both sides, hoping that no one was around to see him holding his own mothers hand, and luckily, there wasn't anyone around.
"Ooh, here's a bench we can relax on." said Nicole.
"Good idea." said Gumball in agreement. The bench was right in front of the lake with some ducks and geese swimming around it. There was also a loon and a few grebes swimming on the lake too. Gumball and Nicole sat on the bench in front of the lake and they both gave out a sigh of relaxation as soon as they sat down.
"It's so beautiful, Gumball." said Nicole
"What is?" asked Gumball
"The lake, the sky, everything around the park."
"Oh, right." said Gumball. "It does look beautiful."
The two were admiring the view of the beautiful, sparkling waters on the lake.
Gumball was thinking about how beautiful Nicole was gain, and began to to sigh in bliss.
"Something wrong, honey?" asked Nicole a little concerned.
Gumball snapped himself out of his thoughts and said "Just thinking about what we should do tomorrow." said Gumball.
"Oh, I see. What do you think we should do tomorrow, Gumball?" asked Nicole sweetly.
He thought of it for a moment, and he finally said "I think you should decide, mom."
"I think you should decide honey. Whatever you pick is alright with me." said Nicole. "So where would you like to go tomorrow?"
"Um... Is it okay if we... go to the zoo tomorrow?" asked Gumball, who already made up his mine.
"Of course it's okay, honey." said Nicole
"Except... I... I have a question about that." said Gumball with some shame in his voice
"What's wrong honey?" asked Nicole with concern and worriment
"Is it okay if someone my age can go to the zoo, and not just little kids?" asked Gumball a little worried. He felt Nicole place her hand right on his hand to make him feel a bit more happy.
"You're never too old for the zoo, honey." said the larger blue cat. "Adults and teenagers can go to zoos too. If someone thinks you're a baby, just because you go into a zoo, then don't. You shouldn't listen to what other people think about you, think about what you think makes you happy."
"You're right mom, thanks." said Gumball
"You're welcome, Gummupuss." said Nicole in her gentle voice, and then she gave him a tender kiss on his forehead, making Gumball's cheeks blush tomato red.
"Should we keep walking then?" asked Gumball
"Sure, gumball." said Nicole. They stood up from the bench. "Let's go." said Nicole as she reached out her hand so that Gumball can hold hers, and Gumball delightfully held her hand, and they went back home.
