Chapter 16. The Final Battle

Bella.

        The feeling of his voice ringing through my ears felt like I was at home.  Like nothing bad was about to happen.  But that was all a lie.  Everything that could ever possibly be bad is happening right now. 

        I tried to break the contact bond we were sharing, but I didn't have the heart to.  It was as if something was keeping me in contact with him.  My eyes somehow reverted back to Tanya who was whispering something in his ear.

        I watched him nod slightly and the next thing I knew he began to glare at me.  Next I could see fire form at the corner of my eye.  I saw a short blonde figure appear beside me.  Cassie.

        All of my focus appeared on Edward again.  His eyes locked with mine in rage.  In seconds, his face calmed and a smile appeared on his face.  But this was not a loving smile he would give me whenever he saw me, but it was a smile of hatred.

        "You're dead," I heard him whisper, and just like that, we were off.

        One by one, everyone was lunging towards one another.  I stood completely still not knowing what to do.  I couldn't see her anywhere. 

        Next thing I knew, I was thrown across the snowy field.  My eyes searched for whomever threw me.  And that's when I regretted trying to look for that person.  Edward.

        I heard a low growl escape from his lips as he lunged for me again.  Luckily I was able to dodge him whenever he came at me.  I could tell this was making him angrier since he growls became more distinct.

        I could feel arms wrap around me, and I struggled to escape them.  I guess this is when it happens.  When I die in front of someone I love, but now seems like he hates me.  But I know that can't be true since he's under her influence.

        I could see him coming closer to me, and his growls were more intense now.  This is it.  I repeated to myself.  I'm going to die now.  He's going to kill me.  I can see it in his eyes. 

        I could feel his cold hands hold my face.  This is it.  This is the part where he rips my head off, and burns me to ashes.  The arms that were wrapped around me seemed to have been cut off.  I could feel their grip loosen, and that's when I realized what had happened.

        It was on the ground where I could see a decapitated body with no arms attached to it.  It was completely unrecognizable.  I met Edwards eyes again.  The emotion had changed.

        I could hear from both ears the commotion that was going on around us, but that didn't matter anymore.  When I said this was the end, I completely thought that it was the truth, but it was a lie. 

        It was as if my heart began to beat again, but I knew that wasn't possible.  It was then when I felt Edwards lips connect with mine.

Okay so I don't really know about this chapter.  Yes it is definitely short.  I'll try to make the next one longer, but we'll see.  Tell me what you thought about this one and I'll try for another update again later.  Love you guys!
