Leah fixes her hair in the bathroom mirror, brushing it back so it falls into a hairstyle as natural as possible. She's wearing a pair of black dress-pants, black stilettos, a white blouse, and a dark blue blazer. Since this is her favorite actor coming over, she might as well dress to impress.
"I take it he's on his way," Chris says, peeking around the door.
"Mhm," she replies, setting the brush down next to the sink.
He walks in and comes up behind her. He wraps his arms around her waist and rests his chins on her shoulder. "See, I like this Leah better. Pulled together, professional, bossy as hell." He smiles.
She rolls her eyes. "I'll admit, I kind of lost it this morning. I swear, I've never acted like that before in my life. I don't know why I did it today."
"I'm no professional at this, but I think you just snapped under the pressure."
"I guess. Ugh, I regret letting that version of me come out."
"A small part of me doesn't mind." He kisses her lightly along her shoulder, up into the hollow of her neck. He mouths and nips at the sensitive skin.
She moans at the sensation, then tries to pull away. "Not now. I don't want my mind clouded before this meeting."
"I'm not even doing anything...now I am." He bites down lightly on her skin.
"Uh," she gasps. She wriggles out of his embrace and straightens out her blazer. "Every time your lips touch my skin, my mind gets clouded." She feels over the spot he bit down on. "I swear, if you gave me a mark--"
"Relax. I only bit hard enough to get a reaction. There's nothing there."
Doubtful, she checks her neck in the mirror for a red mark. He was right. There was nothing there. She scowls at him, then gives him a quick kiss on his lips. She moves past him and exits the bathroom. "By the way, Riley's coming over, too," she says as she enters the kitchen.
"Why?" Chris asks, following behind her.
She shrugs. "Because she's the one who got me the meeting in the first place, and I thought it would be nice if she could be here. Plus, I don't trust you since you said you'd embarrass me in front of him."
He nods his head, understanding. "You want her to keep me company."
"Now you're getting it."
"Alright. She's pretty hot, so that should be enough to keep me occupied."
She looks at him in disbelief. He's standing in front of the woman he "loves", telling her her best friend's hot, and she's never felt this offended before.
He smiles at her reaction. He moves to her side and leans down to her cheek. "I said hot, but I prefer beautiful women." He kisses her on the cheek.
She raises an eyebrow. "Mhm. Taken women, too."
"Hey, I had feelings for you before Robert. Besides, you're the one who keeps giving in willingly. You could just say no."
She opens her mouth to argue with him, but there's no argument to be made. It's not like he's lying, she thinks. "Yeah, well...shut up." She hits a button on the coffee machine to start it.
He chuckles quietly. "No comebacks?" He crosses his arms over his chest.
"None whatsoever, so shut it."
There's a few knocks on the door, and Leah's eyes light up like a child's on Christmas. She hurries out of the kitchen to answer it. She twists the knob, opens it up, and lets out a sigh of disappointment.
