****SEXUAL CONTENT
Yeah, there's sex. I don't know if it's too graphic or not, which is why I'm warning you. I, personally, don't know how it is seeing as it's my first time writing something like that, so a little feedback in the comments would be awesome. Okay, I'll shut up now. Proceed to the chapter.
Leah and Chris stroll down the path, hand in hand, through Mill River Park. For the first time in a long time, the sky is decorated with brightly-burning stars, and they all surround a glowing full moon. The air is unusually nice and cool, but it's nothing worth worrying about. The weather has been out of the norm for the past couple of months.
Leah stares out at the flowing river; it looks so clean, cleaner than the ocean even. It rushes past them so quietly, she would've hardly noticed it had she not seen it.
"I haven't taken a walk like this in years," Chris says, pulling Leah's attention away from the river.
Leah looks at Chris. "Really?" she says.
"Mhm. I used to like them a lot."
She raises her eyebrows in surprise. "Wow."
He looks up at the stars, studying the brightest ones up there. "What?"
"Nothing. I just, I...never would've pegged you as the type to like nature walks."
"It's a secret love of mine. Don't you dare let anyone else know that."
She giggles. Still trying to play tough guy, she thinks. "So do you have other secrets like that?"
"Hm..." He thinks for a while. "Um...cooking. A little creativity in my meal is nice."
She nods her head, understanding what he means. "And acting? Is that a secret love?"
"Yes. It is. Definitely a secret love."
Leah kicks a small rock out of the way. "How'd you get interested in acting?" she asks him.
"I've asked myself that question quite a few times. I honestly do not know."
"You just woke up one day and decided you like acting."
He shrugs. "Probably."
As they move further down the path, they begin to see more and more of the playground. It's one-hundred-percent empty, and the air is slightly more chilly. There's hardly any light, but there's still enough for someone to find their way around.
Leah sees something in the distance, but it's hard to make out. She stops walking immediately, Chris doing the same. She squints, trying her hardest to make out the shape.
"What are you looking at?" Chris asks her.
Finally, she recognizes what it is. All the way on the far side of the park is a swing set, the one thing in the world she'll never feel too old for. She hurries forward, pulling Chris along with her. "Come on. I want to see something."
He catches up to her speed and walks by her side, still looking at the scenery. As soon as she sees the swing, Leah releases Chris' hand and jogs to the swing on the far right.
"Seriously?" Chris says with disbelief.
"Do I look like I'm kidding?" She grips the metal chains and sits down on the chilled leather seat. She touches her feet to the ground and walks backward with tiny steps until she's practically standing.
Chris watches her, the look of disbelief still on his face.
She stares Chris down for a moment, letting him know she's serious. Finally, she lifts her feet off the ground and swings forward through the air, legs sticking straight out in front of her.
