Artemis at age ten; the day before his father left
     Artemis sigh hating the fact that his father was going to be leaving on a business trip so soon. His father was always leaving.
      Young Artemis climbed into bed and pulled the sheets over his head.
    In the dream::
   Artemis looked around at the place he was in. The deep blood colored skies and black landscape made him think of how people described Hell. When he turned around he could see humongous black doors.
   A shiver traveled down his spine before he relaxed, relived to see someone was here with him, a elder boy of maybe 13 or 14 stood with pure black wings outstretched. Though the friendly look was ruined by his scowl, the boy opened his mouth and began to speak.
      " Here lies your fate;at deaths gate.
You and one are guardians of the doors; where your blood stains the floor. A blessing from love; wings like a dove. Yet all is not right; you must keep back the night. You shall find friendship where where you least expect it to come. Yet if you fail all you love shall perish; if succeed you can go back to what you cherish."
    Then Artemis woke up. Shacking slightly he jumped up to go tell his father goodbye. His father hugged him and his mother before leaving.
       That was the last Artemis saw of his father for two years.
