The big haired freak had retreated off into the forest with a threatening glare. So I decided to look around and find out where in the world I was. There were trees that went on for miles, lots of woodpeckers, and a cool breeze. I listened to hear if the person was still watching me, or if anyone else was around. I couldn't hear anything. Was this just a forest that went on forever? Probably not. There had to be some civilization. It was left to picking a direction and walking. I kept walking, trying to think of things like my name, where I was, who Mabel was, and what my plan was. But all I got out of that was headaches. Having almost zero memories was so aggravating!

After walking for a while I came upon a small town. Maybe I could find out where I was here! I saw a sign up on a mountain that read, "Welcome to...I couldn't read the rest. There was a giant hole in the middle of the sign. I wondered what could have caused that. And that sign would have told me where I was... Frustrated, I kicked a rock and headed further into the town, desperate to bring back the memories that seemed so close. But it seemed the more I reached for them, the further they inched away. My enemy had mumbled something to himself about not giving away names or facts or locations that might jog my memory. So maybe if I looked around this town, I would get some memories back. Or maybe it's impossible and he just said that so I would drive myself insane doing so. Who was I kidding? There was nothing I could do! I was so determined to get my memory back and be a hero, but what are the chances of that? Zero. Absolute zero. I didn't even know my own name for crying out loud! I wasn't sure of who was in my family, my personality, who was my friend and who was my enemy...

Then something in my brain snapped. My eyes went wide. I was having a flashback!

An undistinguished voice was crying. I was standing there in the doorway, but something looked wrong. It wasn't me! Well it was, but there was an unsettling glint in my eyes.

A blurred figure was crying on a bed. I couldn't distinguish her features, but I recognized her voice, sort of. I knew it, but I could remember. The figure turned around and saw me in the doorway. She gave a sigh of relief.

"Oh, good! It's you! I thought you were...hey? What are you doing?" I walked over to the blurred girl in a straight line and grabbed her wrist. "Hey! Stop it!" She giggled, trying to break lose of my grip. My hand stayed firm. She continued to struggle.

"Wow!" She squealed with joy. "Look at you! You claimed that you weren't strong, but now I can't even break free! Been exercising your noodle arms?" I didn't reply and started to drag her out the room.

"Um...you can let go now." She smiled. This girl was really optimistic!

I didn't even turn back and continued to drag her. Why was I doing this to this girl?

"Hey!" She shouted, finally cracking from her cover of optimism. "What gives? What are you doing? What going on? No! Stop! Why are you doing this?" She started to cry as I dragged her further away and the voices faded away...

My eyes shot open. I was standing in the town once again. My head hurt. No surprise there. That big white haired guy said that he took control of my mind...was that why my eyes had that weird glint in that flashback? Was I being controlled? He also said he wiped my memory. But how could he do that? Was that even possible? Did he just bang my head against a rock? Hypnotism? But I wasn't tired or injured. So...how did he do it?
