ONE: Michigan to Malibu

It was the end of the school day for Jason, Sienna and the others. As they wandered out to the parking lot,

"Hey, do you lot wanna come back to mine?" Jason offered as he held on to Sienna's hand and swung it between them both.

"Yea, why not? We've got nothing else to do!" Brad, Adam and Van Dyke grinned, Zach nodded and Belle just simply smiled.

"Jason!" His younger sister, Dani came jogging up to them, receiving some greetings.

"Dani? Do you need a lift?" Jason chuckled, she smiled sweetly at him.

"Kirsty went home at lunch cuz she started swaying and nearly fainted" she explained.

"Na, its fine!" He turned to everyone, "See you there?" He questioned.

"Honestly, Freeman, its fine! We'll meet you there!" Adam shooed him.

Jason grabbed a soda and walked outside to his pool where everyone but Maggie and Erin - were lounging.

"Hey? I heard Jackie Miller's having a party on Saturday!" Van Dyke piped up,

"Sweet, who's invited?" Brad grinned from his seat by the edge of the pool.

"Everyone! It's on the beach" Belle grinned and jumped in the pool along with Sienna.

There was a knock at the door, followed by an ear-wincing squeal. Jason put his can down and sprinted inside with Brad and Zach to see Danielle hugging a much shorter girl.

"You scared me then Dani- wait! Emma?!" Jason grinned,

"Jason!!" The small, petite girl chirped and pounced at him. He hugged back whilst laughing; there was a cough from behind them.

"Oh, right ha-ha", Jason's face grew into a cheesy grin. "Emma, this is Brad Moreau and Zach Lafreniére - Brad, Zach - this is my cousin Emma, she lived next door to us in Michigan!"

"Oh, it's nice to meet you!" Brad offered his hand to shake, Emma hesitantly shook it.

"Hey" she smiled sheepishly, "She's shy around new people!" Jason chuckled.

Emma blushed and looked over at Zach; she smiled up at him weakly - not really expecting a response as he looked like the closed off type that only trusted people he really knew but to her surprise he shot her a very attractive, lopsided smile back.

"So Emmy! How long you staying here?" Dani asked,

"Err...I'm staying for quite a while actually" Emma smiled at her fractionally younger cousin. "Aunt Tania has even enrolled me into your school...Did you know I was coming?"

"No... But it doesn't matter! Now where's your stuff?! We need to design your room!" Dani exclaimed. The boys sniggered as Emma sighed and looked at Danielle as if to say 'have you forgotten who I am'.

"Oh yes! You don't like that sort of stuff! You're more of a skater than a girly girl" Dani rolled her eyes as Emma chuckled,

"I should probably still get my stuff though!" She giggled. Danielle and Emma ambled off chatting and catching up. Jason and the others wandered back to the garden as Jason stood by the pool,

"Who was that?" Sienna raised an eyebrow.

"Don't worry! It's just my cousin Emma, she's staying with us for a while apparently," Jason smiled as Sienna grinned.

"Oh good, I got worried there" she smiled; it looked like she was trying to keep a straight face. However, before Jason could ask what was so funny he went flying into the pool. Emma doubled over in laughter as Van dyke and Brad high-five her. Jason resurfaced as his playful glare found his 6 month younger cousin,

"Hahaha, and your face!" She widened her eyes and pulled a funny face but then dissolved into laughter again.

"I hate you" Jason mused with a hearty laugh, Emma walked over.

"See I'd help you out but you'd pull me in" she hesitated.

"I don't need your help getting out!" Jason grinned as he climbed out, causing Emma to back away.

"You hug me you go back in!" She glared as Jason started following her, at this point Adam and Van Dyke were pissing themselves laughing along with Brad and the girls; Zach even had a small grin on his face. Jason eventually caught Emma as she squealed and he threw her over his shoulder, she started punching his back.

"JASON PETER FREEMAN PUT ME DOWN!" Emma exclaimed,

"Okay!" Jason grinned and dropped her into the pool which caused a tidal wave. She swam to the surface and smiled sweetly at Jason as she edged closer to him with Sienna.

"Thanks Jason!" Emma grinned as she pulled him back in to the pool with Sienna and pushed him under. But Jason had his own back and started tickling Emma until she was crying with laughter.

"JASON! STOP MURDERING EMMA!" Mrs. Freeman yelled from the kitchen, "Oooooooh" is all Jason heard from the rest of the guys .

"THANK YOU!" Emma called out as she swam to the side quickly and then jumped out of the pool, looked down and squealed: running inside. Yellow tank tops and navy blue bras don't work together in Malibu,

"Hey Auntie Tania" Emma dashed past and up the stairs. She ran to her room and locked the door, she grabbed her blue bikini and pulled on a stripy top with a golden anchor and some American flag shorts; pulling them over the top. She then unlocked the door, ran back down stairs and outside. Plopping down on the pool lounger next to Van Dyke, she started chuckling at the sight of Jason clambering out of the pool whilst still fully clothed.

"You're going to be great fun," Van Dyke glanced at Emma with a toothy grin, "I can already tell, I'm Michael Van Dyke by the way."

"I second that!" Belle mused with a playful glint in her jade green eyes, she fiddled with her short blonde hair that had been squeezed into small bunches. "Since Jason is currently absent, I'm Belle Rémy. This beautiful girl next to me is Sienna Devereux,"

Belle gestured to the tall girl with flowing black hair that captured the colouring of onyx like gems. Her eyes were a shade of brown so deep that they resembled milk chocolate, "so you're the girl who whipped my cousin into shape huh?"

"That's me," Sienna grinned at her, "these two beautiful ladies are Maggie Roy and Erin Henry."

The two girls waved over to me with enthusiastic smiles, Maggie sat on the edge of the pool swinging her legs in the water. She had tied her golden brown her up into a ponytail, as she wiped some chlorine mixed water from her hazel eyes. Erin was actually in the pool, her dark blonde hair tied up in a bun and her forest-green eyes flickered with the reflection of the crystal blue pool.

"You just met Zach and I," Brad smiled from the opposite side of the pool that the girls were in. Emma's eyes flicked over Brad's woody brown hair and his coffee coloured eyes, a smile formed on her face. She then looked over to Zach who's short, jet black hair was stood up with small spikes and his eyes that were once shielded by sunglasses are now staring back at the female Freeman. His eyes which were such a rich, dark brown that she almost mistook them as black, seemed to be studying Emma. The dark eyes flickered from her golden, beach-lightened blonde hair to the bright, sky blue shade of her eyes. Zach's expressionless face began to slowly form a small, friendly but not too telling smile.

"I see that you've all become acquainted," Jason spoke up from the sliding patio doors. "You'll settle in fine at DeVere High,"

"Of course she will," Van Dyke grinned from beside her. "She'll be hanging with us!"

"Yea, if that's not settled I don't know what is," Maggie grinned from the pool. Jason nodded along with his friends, smiling at the fact they had welcomed Emma with open arms; despite the secrets they'd have to keep.
