Jasper looks out to the stars, stretching his arm out as he sits with Sam and Dan, their friends and Abby, his twin sister. His soft, chestnut hair reflects light slightly, like his sister's, their eyes sparkling like the stars. The fourteen year-olds live together in a mansion in the countryside, alone and getting local produce from farms nearby. They're prodigies, so they already have enough GCSEs to excuse them from going to school to focus on their mini careers.
As they sit on the hill, what looks like a star starts falling down to Earth.
"Ooh! A shooting star! Make a wish!" Abby smiles as she looks up at it, but pales slightly when it comes closer.
"Nope! Get out the way!" Sam and Dan grab the other two and start running down the hill, just before the light crashes down onto the top of the hill, and it turns into a portal. A boy with short, white hair and eyes comes out, worry obvious on his face as he holds a pale, black-haired girl, collapsed in his arms. She opens her multicoloured eyes and looks around.
"Neutrality... I need to go back! Laughter... Worry... Rage! I need to... Help them..."
"I know you're insane, but this is stupid. You'll get captured, Insanity, and you can't do that to the others! They'll make you into a weapon, and they won't stop there with using you! Have some common sense, Insanity!" As the four watch the pair, the one called 'Neutrality' looks over, questioningly examining them. "My lady... There's some humans here-" Upon hearing 'humans', Insanity jumps up, over the humans, and bows to them.
"My name is Insanity, the leader of the Emotions. But do not EVER call me Madness... This is my opposite, like my righthand man, Neutrality. Who are you?" Abby curtsies to her, surprising the boys.
"My name is Abigail Dovetail, but people call me Abby. This is my twin brother Jasper, and our friends Sam Russell and Dan Straw." Calmly, the girl gestures to each person as she introduces them. "If I can say.... You're really beautiful, Miss Insanity."
"Thank you, Abby, but it's fine to just call me Insanity. Besides, I hate words that start with an M and end in two S's."
"For the personification of Insanity, she doesn't seem that insane." Sam whispers to Jasper, but as he does so, the raven-haired girl collapses in a coughing fit. Almost instantly, Neutrality comes to her rescue and Insanity falls into his arms.
"Well, Insanity isn't her normal self because she's sick. We originally came down here to see whether we could get your help, not just helping me nurse her, but helping us get the other emotions back as they're being kidnapped... It's okay if you don't want us to put you in danger-"
"No, if you need help, we'll give you it. But aren't you a strong deity?" The usually quiet Jasper asks, looking over at the pair.
"Yes, but over the years, humans have found ways to control us. Take the signs of the Western Zodiac for example. A few marks on their leader put them under the group's complete control. We had to save them, and I now realise how easily I can be manipulated..." Insanity wraps her arms around herself, eyes still switching colours, but duller. "As one of the strongest 'deities' as you call us, it's worrying knowing that they can control me, and therefore the rest of the Emotions, so easily..."
"Okay, we should probably start heading home now. We have a few empty rooms that you can stay in, Insanity, Neutrality." Sam looks over at the tall girl and starts walking. Happy at having a friend of her own gender, Abby grabs the girl's right leg when she regains her balance, the puerile girl only reaching the bottom of her ribcage.
"Uhh... I wish you were my height... Then you could wear my clothes... What about doing your hair?"
"Abby, maybe when I get better..." Quietly, Insanity easily continues walking, even with the weight of Abby on one of her legs.((A/N): Part three done! I have no idea how much I should update this, but one of my overexcitable friends (you know who you are) is pressing me to do it pretty much every day... Maybe once every three days would be more normal... Anyway, 688 words, yay, have a nice day... I hope you enjoyed Part 3! Bye!
