"Come on! You HAVE to go! They're doing it for US!" Ryder nagged. I sighed and gave in. The rest of the bands wanted to have an 'initiation' thing for us joining Warped. I didn't want to go for fear of being around drunk people. "If I go, will you shut up?!" I growled irritably. She nodded and I got out of my bunk.
I grabbed my lion king hoodie and we walked off the bus. "Ry? Do you know where it's happening?" I asked warily. "Of course I don't! Dean's taking us." "Oh good lord," I mumbled. Dean was leaning against one of the buses as we walked towards him.
"Don't you DARE get us lost, Micheals," I threatened. "Aww! Is the wittuw guwl scawwed?" Dean mocked. I slapped him on his head as we walked. "Jesus! You sure pack a punch for a 15 year old!" He muttered. "Yeah, but I'm Irish, remember?" I smiled. "I thought you were Welsh?" Ryder asked. "Have you two learned from my Irish passport?" I asked non-chalantly. "So doesn't that make Sam Irish as well?" Dean asked. I nodded and skipped ahead on the pathway.
We reached the supposed venue, which was You Me At Six's bus. "I'm having second thoughts about this," I mumbled. "No! Don't even think second thoughts!" Ryder said, as she shoved me towards the bus door. "Oi! Why do I have to go first?!" "One of you go!" Dean said, before entering himself.
I never thought I'd be in a tiny bus that smelled like smoke and beer filled with my idols. I wrinkled my nose in disgust as a strong smell of alcohol reached me. I turned around and almost got whacked in the face by someone. "Oi! Watch it," I muttered softly, continuing to try and find a non-alcohol-smoke smelling place.
"And who's this little birdy?" Someone with a British accent slurred from behind. "A girl who was forced here against her will by her band mates. What's it to-- Holy Chameleon Circuit." Jacky Vincent was talking to me. ME. My brain said say something, but my mouth stayed still. I probably looked like an idiot.
"I'll just be leaving now," I said awkwardly, shuffling off in the opposite direction. I walked into the kitchen and was surprised to find there was a bottle of water. I smelled it and thankfully, it was fine. "Hiding in the kitchen are we?"
I yelped at the sudden voice, but relaxed and nodded at Connor. "So, I never got to ask you, what do you do here on Warped?" I said, taking a sip of my water. "I help out with merch." "Really? Which band?" "All Time Low." "Well that must be interesting," I said, chuckling a bit. He laughed too.
We continued talking and joking around. It was really fun. "Did you know we're neighbours?" I told him. He nodded, putting his cup down. A comfortable silence fell and I wallowed in it.
"You know, I think I saw you in an issue of Kerrang! once," he said. I smiled and nodded. "Yeah. We were their Summer Bash Artist this year. It was fun," I said. "So, do you play any other instruments?" he asked. I nodded and said, "Piano, Bass, Guitar, Drums, Violin, Keyboards, Keytar and I sing. Obviously."
He chuckled and I giggled nervously. "Whoa! Someone found a lady friend!" someone slurred. "Vinny?" I asked quietly. He nodded and pushed him out of the kitchen. "Goodbye, Vinny."
"So, where were we?" he asked suggestively. I laughed and whispered in his ear, "Absolutely nowhere." I leaned back and put my cup to my mouth and winked at him. I put it down and sighed. "I want Red Bull."
I looked outside and everyone looked pretty wasted, so I walked over and opened the fridge. "You do realize that's not your fridge, right?" Connor commented. I continued searching for anything non-alcoholic, and finally came across a 6 pack of Relentless. I smiled and took it out of the fridge. "You're welcome."
"Can you find me a pen and pad or something?" I asked, starting to open a drawer. "Never mind," I said. I started writing about how there are people under the age of 21 and they need less alcoholic drinks, before Connor took it away and crumpled it up, and just wrote a short apology with his name. I gave him a questioning look and he said that, "the guys know me."
