Something Has Found Us

Elizabeth looked at herself in the mirror, short black hair, blue eyes, white tank top, blue jeans, and short brown boots. She styles her hair and eyebrows and walks out of the restroom. She sits down at one of the stools at the bar where the rest of college students are at.

"Hey Elizabeth!" said her friend, Ashley.

"Hey Ashley, you got assigned this too?" asked Elizabeth.

"Yeah yeah but it's not so bad, here have some wine" said Ashley.

Elizabeth grabs the glass of wine and takes a sip.

"Oh oh!" yells Ashley with one finger in the air, "You have to meet Liam and Tom!"

"Whats up?" responds Liam.

"Yo" responds Tom.

"Uh hey!" responds Elizabeth.

Elizabeth drinks all of her wine.

"You know what!" yells Ashley, "we need beer! Like wine is for like romantic crap, beer is like the real stuff!"

Ben and Tom begin to cheer in excitement.

"Wait Ashley, don't we have to study those crops or something?" asked Elizabeth.

"Nah, Elizabeth right?" asked Tom.

"She was asking me not you so..." said Ashley.

"Okay so then when do we study the crops?" asked Elizabeth.

"Tomorrow, today we're just getting our group number and being introduced and stuff so we're all gonna have fun!" responds Tom.

"Oh okay then, that is some really good music to my ears!" said Elizabeth.

After a few conversations and beer games, they begin to talk about crops.

"So what do you think we're going to learn?" asked Ashley

"Well about a farm duh!" responds Tom.

The lights begin to turn off and on then pitch black, everyone screams. Flashlights begin to appear then Elizabeth quickly turns on the flashlight from her phone.

"Woah what happened" asked Elizabeth.

"I don't know, maybe just a normal power outage?" responds Tom.

Elizabeth starts to look around and notices her three friends, a bar tender, a cook, two employees, and Mr.Bates. She notices Liam walking outside. He begins to smoke, she goes outside where a beautiful sky is shown, the sun is almost gone, night will appear in a few minutes or so. She takes a sip of her beer bottle and looks out at the crops.

"So, Liam right?" asked Elizabeth.

"Yep" responds Liam.

"So uh how do you like the farm so far?" said Elizabeth.

"It's uh interesting, I'll give you that." said Liam as Elizabeth laughs.

"It smells" said Elizabeth.

"True" responds Liam.

"I think we should call a taxi and go home" said Elizabeth.

"With what?" said Liam, "So far the phones, even the smart phones, haven't been working plus we just drank but I didn't drink so maybe I can you... and your friends a drive?"

"Yeah!" yells Elizabeth, "that would be great!"

"Alright I'll go get the car ready" said Liam as he begins to grab his car keys and walk towards his truck.

Elizabeth takes a sip of her beer and walks inside. She checks the news on her phone but her phone says that it has no connection. She then hears static from a nearby radio. She grabs the radio and clicks different buttons, even moving around a bit until she finally hears the sound clear.

"Guys, check this out!" yells Elizabeth.

Everyone begins to crowd around the radio as a man begins to talk through the radio transmission.

"Please remain calm, everything will be fixed, this has occurred a few times in the South Coast and a few times in the east coast, some very small pieces of solar flares might be the cause to this but the power will be back in a few hours."

The radio transmission begins to repeat itself until Elizabeth shuts it down then Liam runs back into the Farmers Market.

"The cars don't seem to be turning on!" yells Liam, I tried a few times but it just will not work!

Everyone sighs and just continue to make the most of it. Many hours seem to dread away. She looks at her phone and notices the time "2:00 AM, FRIDAY" and sighs. She then hears glass break.

"Woah what was that?" yells Liam.

Silence. Pure silence for three seconds in a black room until you hear a clicking noise. Pure silence again. Suddenly a man screams, everyone faces their flashlights towards the man, Mr.Bates. He screams in pain and everyone quickly notices his gory face with blood squirting of it, his entire face is covered in blood and deep cuts, the floor begins to spill in blood, flesh, and bloody strings of hair. Everyone screams and cries in horror. Suddenly his head rips off as blood sprays, his veins from his throat pop out and his torso explodes, spraying the wooden wall behind him with his own blood and his dead body falls to the ground as a pool of blood oozes out of his deep cuts.

Suddenly a strange creature, that looks like a large brown mutated crab but with a a huge mouth, runs towards Elizabeth while snapping it's mouth. Elizabeth breaks her beer bottle in half and stabs the creature right in the mouth. She runs towards a red axe and looks outside the window, noticing two dead beheaded pigs with a bloody hole in what use to be their head but now it's spilled with intestines and flesh. She shakes her head and runs towards the creature. With her axe raised in the air, Elizabeth screams and lowers the axe in fury, stabbing the creature multiple times. The creature twitches for a few seconds until Elizabeth stabs it again, the creature is dead.

Everyone screams in horror.

"What the hell was that thing?" yells many.

Elizabeth breaths heavily and and grabs the axe out of the creature's body while blood sprays across her arm. She wipes the blood off and grabs a water bottle, finishing all of it.

"Guys, it was bloody out there also, there were these two dead pigs, it was just a complete violent mess!" yells Elizabeth, "look, it was out there!"

Elizabeth begins to slowly walk towards the front window with a few people behind her. She looks out the window and puts her hand over her mouth, trying to silent her gasp. The two dead pigs were gone.
