Cloverfield Intermediate

Elizabeth

Elizabeth has now exited the mountains and looks at the time from the truck, it shows "8:00 AM." But now the gas has ran out. She escapes the truck and throws the keys far away. Suddenly the giant monster's head rises from above the mountains. She knows that it's big and fast but she is closer to safety.

She sprints as fast as she can. Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale, repeat. She begins to hear her heart beating against her chest. Her feet kick her bottom. She is now near a long and large two-story building. She sees a sign near the building made from rock. Elizabeth squints her eyes and notices the name of the building. The name of the building, as shown carved in the sign, reads: "CLOVERFIELD INTERMEDIATE"

It's a school, a middle school but it's out in the country, the city must be near. She now starts to sprint as fast she ever could, like if her life depended on it which it did. When she finally reaches the school, she is gasping for air. She can't stop now, looking behind the monster has exited the mountains and is near. The monster is gigantic, probably taller than a skyscraper. Elizabeth notices that those smaller, crab-like creatures, are falling down from the giant monster's body.

Elizabeth quickly bumps into a student.

"Please help me!" yelled Elizabeth.

The student doesn't respond and just runs away. Elizabeth runs towards an entrance and bangs against the window.

"Please you guys have to get out of here!" yelled Elizabeth.

She then notices that a student has opened another door which she quickly runs towards. She grabs the door before it closes and runs inside. She pulls the fire alarm but it's already too late. The roof of the building comes crumbling down and a gigantic leg enters, she then notices the horrifying face of the monster as it roars.

Students are running outside or all around, screaming. Elizabeth quickly runs outside also. Elizabeth runs towards a giant lawn where most of the other children that have escaped were standing at.

She looks up and notices the monster destroying the giant school. Suddenly a child's torso burst opens as blood sprays everywhere, Elizabeth notices dozens of those creatures running towards the children.

"Everyone follow me!" yelled Elizabeth.

"Wait lady!" yelled a child who looked to be around the age of thirteen.

"Yes? Hurry?" yelled Elizabeth over the sounds of destruction and chaos.

"There is this road near the school, it's kinda like a bridge but you can go under it!" yelled the child, "and we can hide in there!"

"That sounds like the better plan!' yelled Elizabeth.

They run towards the road where the underground bridge is located. Some of the children, teachers, or staff members behind her get thrown to the ground because of the creature attacking them. Blood sprays everywhere.

Suddenly a large granite brick is thrown near Elizabeth, she sighs in relief as her life almost ended. She then notices a pool of blood coming under the brick, a child's hand is underneath it. Elizabeth runs back to her group of who knows how many.

They all tilt their head to the left as they notice the monster destroying the cafeteria and and an explosion sparks from what must be the kitchen. The explosion hits the monster but the monster only roars and doesn't seem to be hurt by it.

"Quickly!" yelled a teacher.

Elizabeth and the people behind her finally get near the underground bridge.

"Down here!" yelled a teacher.

Elizabeth and many others go down towards the underground bridge which is actually just a sidewalk made from sandstone under another sidewalk that is made of cement. Some of the lights flickers on and off.

Elizabeth counts how many people have survived with her. She notices one male teacher and eight children that were most likely around the age of thirteen.

Chaos and roars from the monster echo. Everyone begins to scream and some of the students begin to cry.

"What the hell was that thing?" asked the teacher.

"I don't know?" replied Elizabeth, "Wait do you have your phone with you?"

Elizabeth suddenly notices her phone is gone but she doesn't seem to care about her missing phone right now.

"Uh yes I do!" said the teacher as he grabbed it out of his pocket and handed it to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth dials her boyfriend, Daniel's phone number but there is no connection.

"Dam'n it!" cried Elizabeth.

"I'm sorry about that" said the teacher.

"Wait a minute!" said Elizabeth.

She goes into the smart phone and starts the camera application. She taps video and then taps record, she soon begins to start recording.

"Hello, my name is Elizabeth..." Elizabeth said into the camera but stopped because of loud roar coming from above, "My name is Elizabeth Curtis, I am twenty-one years old, I was assigned to go on a field-trip to my college's farm while I was with a few other people. We experienced strange things from a power outage, there were these bizarre creatures and a strange unidentified flying object that released a deadly green gas. I am the only survivor from that farm, a giant creature has followed me into a school where it is no destroying everything in sight, as long with it, these strange smaller creatures are falling from the giant creature's body, perhaps the giant creature's parasites or a smaller form of it, which if bitten from, you will become infected and your torso will explode with blood. If you're watching this, you probably know more than what I do. I also have one more thing to say, Daniel Warrens I love you!"

Suddenly the roof of the underground bridge comes crumbling down just as another roar from the monster appears and everyone screams. Elizabeth drops the smart phone as it's camera is still recording.

After five minutes of struggling to move, climb, or crawl through the rubble, Elizabeth finally makes it. The others were unfortunate and not as lucky as her. Elizabeth seemed to be the only one to survive the tunnel's destruction.

Elizabeth rises out of the ruins, ash, and flesh. She looks up at the gray sky but nothing is standing out so she looks straight-forward and the entire school has been destroyed. Dead bodies of children or staff members or parents and blood cover the ground. Elizabeth's left leg is hurt and she walks with a limp. Elizabeth is a survivor and now she feels changed, like she feels new and stronger, like a new Elizabeth.

Elizabeth begins to notice that she is covered in dust and blood. After a few miles of walking, she hears a roar. She climbs up a hill and notices the monster but the monster is far from her. In front of the monster, lays the city which is filled with many people, homes, and important businesses .

Elizabeth stands at the top of the hill in silence as the monster walks towards the city.
