You have no idea how long it took me to find a nice picture of Sasuke smiling! It was worth it though, he looks so peaceful in it ^^
-------------------------------------
It was that time of year again, the one that Kelsey had anticipated. The leaves were buried under thick blankets of snow and the sky was the brightest shade of white you would ever see. Snow fell gracefully, as though in slow motion, to the ground in which snow angels and snowmen were made.
The park was beautiful around this time of year, everything looked so pure and clean. The sheets of white washing all the blood and pain away; as though everyone is beginning everything on a clean slate, living harmoniously among the villages. No one would have thought that the Fourth Shinobi War had happened only four months ago.
"He's late, he told me he would be on time. Sakura, what if he's not coming?"
"Don't say that, Kelsey. Sasuke loves you, despite you being at each others throats all the time."
Turning her head, her azure eyes met the reassuring sight of the green eyes of her pink haired friend. Despite the veil limiting her vision, she could see her best friend standing close by, holding a large bouquet of crimson camellias whilst attempting to hold back her tears of joy.
'Why is he late? On our wedding day no less! How could he do this?!'
Tightening her grip on her own bouquet, her gaze wandered down to the heavily scented flowers. Lone strands of her golden blonde hair fell from her hair, which was styled in a high up-do, fortunately the veil hid the fallen imperfections. All she could do was wait for her lover to approach the alter. Her memories of planning the wedding swarmed her mind as though they were only yesterday. The first of many were when Sasuke had asked her the question which had brought the two together.
...
After the war ended, Kelsey had visited Sasuke's hospital room twice a day. She longed for the man, who she had loved since they were children, to wake up. When the morning came that he woke up, he met her loving gaze with one of shock and disbelief. Kelsey removed her tear-filled gaze down towards the damp cloth which she had removed after pressing against his face. Whilst his befuddled gaze was focused on her, she allowed a tear to slide down her face before punching his arm.
"Don't scare me like that again, baka!"
"What the hell was that for yo-wait...are you crying? I thought you hated me."
"I don't hate you...quite the opposite actually..."
"You love me?"
"What if I said yes?"
"How long have you known?"
"Since we were children."
"..."
"I've already said too much. I'm going to leave you to relax." Before Kelsey could leave Sasuke's bedside, he raised himself off the bed, and his arm shot out to grabbed her upper arm. With a small tug, she was turned to face the intense gaze of the black haired Uchiha.
Sasuke brought his face towards Kelsey's and mumbled "I love you too" before bringing their lips together in a fleeting, chaste kiss, before pulling away and leaning his forehead against hers "despite you being a pain in my ass half the time".
He could not believe that she was there, he had thought that she would never feel a shred of affection for him after all the petty arguments they had had throughout their youth but here the two were confessing their mutual love for each other.
"Marry me. Please, Kelsey."
"I will"
...
Sasuke had surprisingly been very helpful in planning the ceremony. They had decided for a commemorative wedding, one which would honour their fallen friends and clan members who are not with them to celebrate their marriage; it was taking place in front of the KIA stone and ordained by the new hokage, Kakashi. All their friends had gathered in the snow covered park to watch the couple recite their vows and bring happiness to the aftermath of the war.
The memories brought a smile to Kelsey's face: 'My parents would love to have seen this, and now they can.'
A tug to the one of the long sleeves of her dress brought her back to her senses and she looked down towards a pale hand reaching down to her hand. Her gaze followed the hand up the arm to see the owner of the hand; she was met with her lover.
Finally, he's here.
"Even Kakashi sensei was here on time, you better have a good reason for being late."
"Sorry, I'm late. That dobe slept in and we were running late." Sasuke leaned down, whispering into her ear as his eyes were staring intently at Naruto, who looked sheepishly nervous.
"Alright, so are we ready to start?" said the handsome silver-haired man, who stood in front of the couple with a scroll in his hand. Hidden amongst the scroll was a well worn copy of Icha Icha Paradise, which was poorly concealed to the sweat dropping pair. Clearing his throat and adjusting his hokage robes, Kakashi began the ceremony.
"And now, for the vows. Sasuke, would you like to go first?"
"I promise to love you, cherish you, and always be there to comfort and defend you against any danger. I know that we haven't gotten on well together in the past, but I love you, and I always will. You're my soul mate, the only one I will ever love, and I will never let you get hurt."
A choir of awes and sniffles were heard from behind, before a silence in anticipation of Kelsey's vows. With a trembling voice, she spoke. Her hands trembled nervously.
"Sasuke, I used to think you were my nemesis and I hated you for being better than me. When we were younger I couldn't stand your arrogant attitude, it drove me crazy and was so frustrating, but over time I realised that your arrogance is one of the things I love about you. When you left the village it pained me knowing that we would never argue again, it was at that point that I realised that I loved you. Over the years, my love and devotion for you has grown and I can't imagine my life without you. I will love you no matter what, and I promise to always support you."
At some point during her speech, tears began flowing down Kelsey's face, heating her face against the chills of the snow landing on her.
"Alright, Sasuke you may now kiss Kelsey."
Not a second later, Kelsey felt Sasuke's lips come into contact with her soft, plump ones. The kiss was passionate and sweet, only a small taste of what would follow that night.
"I love you so much."
"I love you too. I never want to leave your side."
"This is the best Christmas present ever"
The snow continued to pour over everyone, however Kelsey and Sasuke were too caught up in their own little world to realise.
