A/N: can I just say that this has probably been the hardest request to do?? I ended up writing half of my itachi request and had gotten half-way through two drafts of potential plots and then decided one wasn't good enough and the other was too complicated and I'd written almost 7,000 words (which was barely into the plot) so what I've written may be used as a potential fanfic...anyway, happy new year guys! I wish the best of luck to you all in 2017! ^^

The four men escorting you through the busy streets had drawn everyone's attention. You kept your gaze firmly on the back of the guard in front of you with your head tilted downwards. From a young age, you had learned to never meet anyone's gaze, it was a sign of weakness 'to catch the eye of someone beneath you' as your parents had so nicely put it.

'Who is she?'

'Why are there guards?'

'Do you think she is the heir to that clan?'

'She can't be. We don't even know if they exist.'

'She's beautiful, it must be'

Murmurs could be heard from all around you. Behind the superficial layer of confidence, anxiety began to rise within you causing your cool façade to falter for a brief second before retaining its original cool composure. In an attempt to dull out the surrounding hushed conversations your eyes darted around aimlessly. Then it happened.

Your eyes met in a brief glance, however the sight would remain in your mind forever. Black eyes. One could say that they were dead eyes, ominous and dangerous...however you fell right into them and their mysterious owner's presence. You shifted your gaze back to where it was meant to be with the black haired man in the crowd still on your mind.

By the time you had reached your destination, that being the hokage building, you had regained your composure. You needed to be focused in getting through the meeting without any hitches.

Once seated across from the grey-haired man, who was recently appointed as the new hokage, you began your long, tiring - but necessary - discussion about communication between the leaf village and your clans' community which inhabited a small area of forest surrounding the busy streets of Konoha. This discussion was the first of many in building stable foundations for successful co-existence of the two communities, and as such you were to stay in Konoha for the time being until all the necessities were discussed and written in a contract.

"Well, you must be tired from your journey and as you don't know the village I'll have an ANBU come escort you to the house you will be residing in during your stay as well as aiding you in any way possible. Since we spoke longer than planned I expect he's outside waiting. Although he was my student for a time so he may or may not be running late..." the older man, who you found out was named Kakashi Hatake spoke to you in a gentle manner whilst sweat dropping. He stood up from the table and guided you outside of the meeting room.

Whilst you walked along side the taller man, you give expressed many thanks in his generous hospitality. The smile you sent him was reciprocated, however, it was hard to tell whether he was due to the fabric covering his face. As soon as you had stepped outside the building you could feel yourself shivering as the autumn breeze streamed past you similar to how a river would engulf your body in a cold rush. Your once exhausted frame jerked at the cold air, making you more alert of your surroundings.

"Y/N, I hope that you enjoy your time outside of our meetings and experience our village. Ah, there he is!" his arm reached out towards the lone figure leant up against the wall. The ANBU wore clothing which accentuated his lean muscles, whilst the white and red porcelain mask was framed by his ebony hair. The mystery of who would be aiding you this next month was solved when your eyes met - it was him!
