Time

Chapter 5- Mission #1

-Time: 4:32 PM, Friday September 11th-

The brown haired girls eyes angrily switched between Koya and Nia as she proceeded to cross her legs while sitting on the cold, hard bench near the large metal table. "I should've seen this coming." She said, nodding her head unaprovingly. "Yep, God knows I did." Leon said, sitting comfortably atop the table. "I don't see the problem here, Nia's not the bad guy! And whoever the "bad guy" is, she can help us stop them!" Koya pleaded. "Im fine with it." Leon hopped down from the bench, throwing an arm over Koya and Nia. "Well boss?" He grinned widely. She glanced between the three smiling characters in front of her before finally letting out a large sigh. "Fine, but you have to keep a close eye on her." She said pointing at Leon. "Eh?! Why me?" He suddenly shot up. "Because I said so, Im the boss right?" She giggled. "Hear that? Your in Nia!" Koya cheered. "Y-yay! Thank you guys! I-Ill do my best!" She said in a happier tone as she bowed. "No thanks needed. The more help we have, the better." Rei waved her hands, speaking in an apologetic tone. "On that note, whats the plan then chief?" Koya asked. "Simple-" Rei began as she climbed on top of the table. She then stood tall and placed a hand on each hip as she grinned at the group below her. "We're going to scout the city to find more people like us!" She pumped her fist proudly. "That...sounds like fun!" Koya joined in. "And how do are we planning to do that?" Leon crossed his arms. "Tonight, you guys are gonna pause time, then we're gonna search for anyone thats moving or breathing!"
"B-but what if what if they run away from us?" Nia asked concerned. "Then we chase them, and explain whats happening so maybe they can help us. The more people we have ready for a fight that big, the better." She responded in a more serious tone. They all glanced between one another, eyes filled with the same goal as the other. They then all turned their heads back to Rei, and nodded confidently. "Ok then. Mission one, search for other Timers!!" She announced. "Wait a second, 'Timers'? The hell is that supposed to be?" Koya interrupted. "Wha- its the name I came up with for you guys. Don't like it?" She asked, slightly upset. "Eh, I feel like the name could be a lot better. Maybe like, 'Time weilders' or something." Leon added. "You guys are stupid, don't worry about the name right now!" She stopped the conversation. "Ugh, anyway, I was thinking we could meet up tonight at Koya's around 9. Sound good?" She threw up a thumbs up along with a half smile. The group smiled along and mimicked her thumbs up.

-Time: 8:54 PM, Friday September 11th-

The boy slept soundly on his couch, snoring loudly with his hair draped over his face. "DING". The doorbell echoed throughout the nearly vacant house. He shot up from the alarming noise. He rubbed his eyes, and proceeded towards the door. He swung it open, revealing a cloaked figure with a completely white mask. "WOAH" Koya shouted as he fell backwards on to the ground. The figure then moved their hand towards their face, gripping the mask and removing it. "Hehehe! I knew that'd wake you up!" Rei revealed herself with a large smile. "Damnit, don't do that anymore. Why are you wearing that anyway?" Koya said slightly irritated as he stood to brush himself off. "I made it for tonight! I had like 4 hours so I decided I may as well keep myself hidden while you guys are doing the scouting. But not only that-!" She paused suddenly to dig in the pockets of her coat. She pulled out four black electronic devices with antennas and held them out towards Koya. "Walkie talkies huh? Not bad kid, you really thought this- oh wait we have phones." Koya mocked as he took two of them. "Shut up. Its gonna take way to long to call each other by phone every time we want to contact each other. Besides, this is more fun anyway!" Rei convinced him. "Whats all the commotion about eh?" Leon spoke suddenly as he appeared and proceeded towards them alongside Nia. "Awesome, looks like the teams here. Put on your outfits and we can get to it." Rei announced. They all pulled out their capsules, and pressed the button on the top simultaneously. The smokey clouds disappeared, revealing them all in their new clothing. "Alright then, someone pause time and lets go!" She said as she put on her mask. "Ok, Ill do it, but I can only pause time for about twenty minutes." Leon stepped in. "R-really? Not to brag or anything like that b-but Im able to stop it for about thirty." Nia added. They all paused then looked between one another. They then turned their attention to Koya. "What?" He asked completely unaware of the situation. "How long can you stop time for?" Rei jumped in. "I have no idea. Ive never had enough time to try it out. I guess now's a good a time as any right?" He said as he pulled his remote out. He then pressed the pause button, causing time to stop in its tracks. Leon then walked towards Koya and grabbed his arm, lifting his sleeve from over his wrist. "Eh? The hell?!" He said in a shocked manner. "What the hell are you doing man?!" Koya yanked his arm away. "Normally, some weird virtual timer should appear on your wrist to tell you how long you have. You...don't have that." Leon pointed at his wrist. "S-so he doesn't have a time limit?" Nia stuttered in surprise. "We'll have to see I guess. And even if he runs out of time, whenever that may be, you guys can just switch off right?" Rei said in a hopeful tone. They all nodded in agreement. Rei and Koya then handed them each a walkie talkie. "Eh? Why?" Leon pointed to the tiny device. "Im not explaining this again. Just take it and lets do this already." She recommended. "Ready guys?" They all nodded in agreement. "GO!" She shouted. Suddenly, Nia leaped into the air at an alarming height. She landed swiftly atop a neighboring house, and lept again out of sight. Koya stared at the now empty rooftop in awe. "How?!" He suddenly blurted out. "Well, it goes something like..." Leon suddenly paused  mid-sentence as he put himself in a leaping position. "-THIS!" He shouted as he launched from the ground upwards. He landed on the house and turned towards them in one quick motion. "Thats not normal....That means I can do it too! Right?!?" Koya asked impatiently. "Try it then!" Leon shouted before he turned and hopped away. Koya then copied Leon's starting position, and lifted off. Rei watched as he passed the height of both Nia and Leon, and witnessed him quickly jump from roof to roof behind them. "Wish I could do that..." She whimpered as she fell to the grass.

-Time: 9:15 PM, Friday September 11th- (This is the time when time paused)

"AceGod to DongLicker do you copy." Koya said into his walkie talkie as he jumped quickly from building to building with little to no effort. "Um, W-who are you talking to?" Nia's staticky voice replied through the small speaker. "Heh, I was talking to Leon." He laughed. "Eh?! Who the hell are you calling DongLicker?! Who said you could give the code names anyway?" Leon erupted through the talkie. "I-if were getting nicknames, c-can I have something, uh, cute?" Nia stuttered. "Sure, how about an animal or something, like uhhhh....Puppycat." He recommended. "Hehehe, whats a 'Puppycat'?" She giggled. "Guys shut uuuuuppp. We don't need codenames, time is paused remember? And the only ones on the line is us four." Rei blurted in an irritated tone. "I think you just want a new nickname huh? How about something cool, like...RedCobra?" He suggested. "Heh, fitting." Leon responded laughing. "Hehe, w-what do you think Rei?" Nia asked. There was a long silence. "Uhh, Rei?" Koya asked, concern filling his tone.

"Sorry, 'Red Cobra's' a little busy right now."

Koya landed on the ground and froze for a moment. "Who in the hell are you?!" He shouted at the mystery intruder on Rei's line. "Who knows, why don't you all hop back to your house and find out?" He responded in a calming manner. Koya quickly turned, and leaped from building to building in the direction of his house. "Who w-was that?!" Nia suddenly sounded through the radio. "Not sure, but I hope this asshat knows whats coming to him if he lays even a finger on Rei." Koya responded.

The boys shoes skid on the rocky ground with his swift landing. He turned his head, and hid eyes locked on to the sight of a maskless Rei being held off the ground by the neck by the new mysterious intruder. He was tall with light brown hair coming out of his tall black and red hat. He wore a red bandanna around his mouth, ironically with a smirk as the design on the front. His outfit consisted of a long sleeve red and black patterned striped shirt. Below that was black thin jeans, and black flat shoes. "You're Koya? Wow, he was right about those eyes." He suddenly stated. "Stop spouting random crap and put her down NOW!" Koya growled as he quickly whipped out his remote and summoned the large virtual blade, and pointed it towards the strange character. "Hahaha, ok then.

Lets see this strength of yours Koya."
