"All I knew this morning when I woke, Is I know something now, Know something now I didn't before, And all I've seen since eighteen hours ago, Is green eyes and freckles and your smile."

"I want you to get out there and enjoy your last game as a team!" Coach Parish grinned in a much more excitable voice than usual. "You guys- and gal- have been great, but now we've got one last game to win and I know you can do it. So off you go and make this old man proud," Coach pretended to wipe a tear away.
Alex raised an eyebrow at him, "coach you're barely twenty! You could get away as a student if you tried."
Clipping him over the head with a clipboard, Alex ducked just in time and the board hit Scott's shoulder instead. Scott held up his fists in a joking manner and Coach shook his head at us all. "It's just my complexion making me look so young," he fluttered his lashes and Skylar scoffed. "Alright, alright I take it back! I hate you all and I can't wait to get a new team next year."
"You're just emotional because you know you'll never find a team as good as us again," said Rick teasingly.
Skylar piped in, "or a player as good as me." Isaac jabbed her with his elbow and she pushed him backwards until he was almost on the floor.
"Yes, yes I'll miss you all. I'll miss Scott and Sky's continuous bickering. I'll miss Chris's awful after shave. I'll miss Ty tripping over the ball-"
"Hey, that was once!" interjected Tyler. The team laughed and Skylar started to warm up her ankles by circulating them back and fourth.
A lot of people had shown up for this; their final game. Grace and Marcus were sat with the twins and Jeremy was sat with a girl Skylar had never seen before. Peyton and Mia were cheering already and had a massive box of popcorn which must have been Mia's idea of an ironic joke. Sky just shook her head at them and laughed. They were going to win today; she had to for the twins.
The referee was signalling for them to take their places so after one quick cheer, the team split and found their places. Skylar was facing a tallish player with legs as long as hers. He was holding himself slightly slanted which told Sky that he was a left footed player.
The opposite team was starting with the ball, so Sky was getting ready to intercept. The referee blew his whistle and Scott jolted forward. The one player kicked it back and Skylar ran up the pitch after it.
They kept possession of the ball well as they kept the passes short and precise so they didn't leave their half of the pitch. Skylar narrowed her eyes and went in for a tackle but only clipped the ball. It flipped up and landed back with the same team. She jumped up and ignored the grass sticking to her knees.
The tall boy called for the ball and he scored their first goal. Skylar grit her teeth and clapped as she ran back to the middle. She hoped that the team would keep up the pace.
"Scott!" she called for it as they started and as always, the opposite centre forward went after her instead of anyone else. It was a clever tactic that the two captains had discussed at length; it gave Scott time to gain control and Ethan to run forward into the centre.
Ethan had it but it was always a habit of his to keep his eyes on the ball rather than up where they should be. "Eyes up!" Scott yelled but it was too late. Ethan had a head on collision with a brown haired boy. He seemed okay. Sky ran forward and helped him to his feet but after that, he was ready to chase the ball again. "Good thing he has a thick skull," muttered Scott and Sky laughed before getting back into the game.
