Diane!

The bitter End!

The cold wind stung my face like a thousand steel knives piercing it. I rode fast in the darkness. I needed answers. I know i would not be able to handle this. She knew what it was. She also knew i knew too. I needed her to tell me. 

After what seemed like a good 10-15 min. I reached Doctor Sequera's house. I rung the doorbell...No answer.. I had to ring it continuously for a good 3 minutes  before i heard a sleepy and grumpy voice say-

"Who is it at this time of the night?" she opened the door "I say, I do not appreciate-- Avril!! Oh my goodness, Avril? What are you doing here? Your all wet! Come inside honey. Is everything okay? Are you alright?"

So that's what stung me. It wasn't the wind. It was the rain. It didnt strike me that it was raining and that i was wet. Before i knew it i was being wrapped up in a big fluffy towel and plonked onto the couch before the fire at the fire place Doctor had just lit. 

She came and sat beside me.. She hugged me for a second and asked -

"Whats the matter Avril? How are you here? "

"I cycled all the way here" grinning at the shocked expression on her face. So she thought i couldn't do it..  "I-I needed to talk to you and tell you something. It's about Diane! She's taking control of my life and i need you to help me" now i was serious again.  

"What is it honey? What do you know? Come on spill!"

"Ok so let's start from the beginning"

The Story Of Avril and Diane! 

My mum and dad always hated me. They always thought i was bad luck.They never expressed it or ill treated me. I just had a sneaky feeling. So one day fed  up and tired of all the drama, i wondered what it would have been like to be free? To be loved. So the days past by and i kept thinking about it all. One day i met Diane. She was sitting in my room on my bed when i got home from school. She was blonde, tall and slender, she had blue eyes and she looked flawless. She had everything i dreamed about. She was the perfect friend for me. I always thought mum and dad had brought her to me.

But it puzzled me. If they really had brought her for me then why would they ignore her? They acted as if she didn't exist. And they got really upset when i mentioned her. Things began to get worse. My mum hated me cause she thought i did all this on purpose. 

Before i realized , she was taking an appointment to come and meet you. I knew no one would understand. How could they? When there was no solid explanation. I hated coming here. I hated my mum even more cause she forced me to come here. I hated you. 

But gradually, i began to realize that the only person who might be able to understand me and help me was you. 

So now i'm here.. Cause i need your help. So today i was sitting and thinking to myself about all the incidents that happened recently. 

My cat! It slept with me in my room. I always slept with the room door shut. How could it have got through a closed door? And how was it that that the night my cat fell off the building, i broke my leg. If the door was locked how did i get through it? 

The broken pendant. How was it that the day i went to wear it , it was broken? I hadn't touched it in weeks. And if the door of my room was locked almost all the time, then how did it break? 

 And then The wall.. I was asleep, the door was locked. It was still locked and people couldn't get through locked doors.. Then how was it destroyed.

"So then Avril,What answer did u come up with? "

"It was Me!! Diane!  I created her to be exactly opposite to me. To have everything i didn't. Slowly she started taking over me. I began to forget who i was and started to be more like her.

 I lost control of my former self...The cat.. I threw it of the building and then while coming down the steps fell.. My dress.. I ripped it before i went to sleep.  

The wall.. Everything suddenly made sense.. I wasn't me when i did all this. I was Diane!!! 

I was what i always wanted to be. I. And i dont know how to let it go. It takes over me and then there is nothing i can do! 

"Do you know what your saying Avril?" Do you know how rare it is for people to realize what actually is the problem? I'm calling your mum to come and pick you up!"

"No! Do NOT do that!! Please!! I beg of you!!"

"No im sorry Avril, but im going to have to call her" 

She left me and rang my mum..I told her not to do so .. I was furious.. I Rushed out of her house and cycled all the way back home.. I rushed up to my room and stood in front of the mirror.. 

I was furious! How could i have let all this happen.. How was i so stupid?? This was all my fault. 

I looked at the mirror but instead of seeing me, black hair, stunted and tanned i saw someone else stare back at me. 

She was tall, blonde, sleek and beautiful. She grinned at me. I knew she had won and her grin seemed to rub it into me! She spoke to me -

"See, I told you i was gonna destroy you my precious! Look how I proved my point! Nobody loves you Avril, they only love me. Cause lets face it , i am more better than you!"

"Shut up!! Shut up Shut up!" i shrieked . Get out of my life! Leave me alone! I don't need you!" i punched the mirror and the glass shattered into a million tiny pieces. 

I stared at the broken mirror, hoping to see me. But no, all i saw was Diane. 

This was it. I had had enough. I was done!..  

Doctor Sequera's POV

That night was a stressful night. After Avril rushed out the door , i told her mum to stay home cause i knew she was going back. And she did. But when she got home, she did something drastic. 

The next thing i knew , Jean was calling me. 

Avril had completely lost it. She shut everyone out. Her mum and dad heard a lot of screaming from her room but since the door was locked couldnt do anything. 

Suddenly.. All the screams stopped.. They began to panic. Avril's dad broke down the door. They rushed into the room to find their daughter lying on the floor among all the shattered pieces of glaas , in a puddle of blood.

She had slit her wrist and her stomach. She tried to kill herself. 

They became frantic. They still believed that something possessed her to do this. They rushed her to the hospital.

She was tended to immediately.  Jean told me that while in the car Avril was conscious ,she told her mum.

"Mum! Please don't save me! I dont wanna live. Diane has taken over my life. Im ruined. Please dont save me! "

The doctors said that Avril was in a very critical condition. She fought hard for breath for the next few hours..

But she didnt make it.. She gave up fighting. She stopped breathing...

She had Died!!.....
