Sam
I get out of my car sliding my hands into my pocket and walking into target. I never really like this store until she came into my life. There's a lot of things that she somehow made me like even though I hated them. I grab a cart a look at my list. I remember when we'd come shopping for things we needed in our little apartment, those were the good days.
"Soap. Soap." I say aloud but to myself. The moment I hear her laughter I have to look around and make sure the universe isn't playing tricks on me.
Her hair is curled and she looks beautiful like always. My heart is racing. "Hey." I smile when we make eye contact. "How's is going?" I nervously scratch the back of my neck.
"Hi. I'm Jacob and you are?" A guy comes closer he raises his eyebrow in question. I'm lost, lost at words, lost with this picture. Everything in the moment is right except for me.
"Sam. This is Sam. " She says pausing. I watch her eyes as she looks at me darting from my beard to the bags under my eyes. "I'm doing well. How're you?"
"I'm excellent." I fake a smile because I know that's a lie. "See you around." I turn my cart around.
I leave the cart on the next aisle and leave without buying anything. I don't think anyone knows how much I lost when I lost her she was perfect for me and I screwed that up. Pictures of that night flash through my mind. She still hold my heart and I'd be with her in a heartbeat if I could. I love her and will never forgive myself for letting go of her.
