Hedgehogs live in forest in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Hedgehogs do NOT live in the United States so of you live there then you aren't gonna see a hedgehog unless it's someone's pet.
Porcupines on the other hand live in Southern Europe, Asia, Africa, and in North America.
Therefor making it almost impossible to see a wild hedgehog living in the United States so of you live in the United States and see something prickly IT'S NOT A HEDGEHOG!!!!!! So please don't call it a hedgehog, if you live in the United States I'm 100% sure your not going to see a wild hedgehog. Although it is possible to have a hedgehog as a pet, but it is illegal in some states so make sure you can have one before you go and buy one! Pet hedgehogs can be quite expensive(trust me I've looked) and baby hedgehogs can cost up to 200$ and adults 150$. But if you are planning to get a pet hedgehog, make sure to take proper care if it!
