He made us do flying exercises and had us work with hot coals. We each had to light twenty torches.
"Come one Griffin use those big wings of yours".
"Well having big wings isn't really a good thing". I looked at him and tried my hardest to stay focused. I didn't ever complain because I believed that it does nothing to help you. But the real challenge was flying in the middle of a thunderstorm.
"Can you feel the currents in the rain"?
"No but I do feel like i'm getting stabbed to death". I then looked behind me and saw a huge twister.
"What do we do"? I asked.
"Fly into it" Ezylryb yelled.
"Why would we ever want to do that"? Griffin asked.
"So you can test your gizzard and if you test it you'll be able to fly through anything". I then felt a sting coming from my gizzard which led me towards it.
"See Cynder knows what she's doing keep going" Ezylryb shouted.
"Are you mouse brained she'll get her feathers ripped off".
"Just watch" he said. I began to fly faster into the storm and my wings were starting to hurt. I had my eyes locked onto where I was flying.
"She's doing it" he cried. After a few minutes I was out "Well done" he said. Ezylryb and I both looked at Griffin "it's your turn" I said laughing. Griffin was determined to show off. He flew in and didn't look where he was going he was then hit by a piece of hail which caught him off guard.
"Go get him he will need more training" he said. I nodded my head and tucked in my wings to go faster.
"I always have to save your tail feathers" I said as I grabbed onto his talons.
"Sorry Cynder but I thought I could have done it".
"Well you didn't and you almost got yourself killed in the process".
"What do you have to say for yourself"? Ezylryb asked as he looked at him dangling from my talons.
"I'm sorry sir" was all he could say.
"Take him to my hollow I'll deal with him later".
"What should I do after that"? I asked.
"Go dry your feathers you've done enough for one night". I then flew him back to the Great Tree.
"Why are you flying so close to the ground"?
"Well you weigh 14 pounds plus i'm carrying you by your legs".
"True well you are better at this and I got my hero upset with me".
"Well try to show him that you'll do better". I gently set him down and landed by him.
"Well you better get to his hollow before he gets even more mad".
"Right" he said limping his way to the hollow.
"Your hurt" I told him.
"No i'm not i'm fine". I flew up to him and said "come on let's take you to Eldaah".
"Fine if you insist". We walked our way to Eldaah's hollow.
