Chapter 3: An Unexpected Guest.

"Wait wait wait," Paisley says stopping the conversation again and I want to slam my head into a table.

I don't know what it is about her but she annoys the everloving fuck out of me.

"You're who the books were talking about." She says softly as she stares at Luke.

"Baby you've read about this?" Alexandra asks and Paisley nods while smiling.

"Yeah, I've read every book in that library." She laughs and I'm about to lay on the grass when I see a giant bug.

I quickly move away from it and scoot closer to Luke as the bug gets closer and I gulp.

That's a really ugly bug.

"The prophecy says that the mate of Luke Anderson will be taken two days after they meet. It's just, I don't understand what's so bad about them taking me." She says and I see Luke frown besides me.

Great, now he's going to give her a long as fuck speech about how important she is when really, all I want is to take a nap.

"Everything is bad about that." He says as I rest my elbows on my knees and put my head in my hands.

"No, it's said that by me being taken, it sets off a chain of events. The books says there's something that I have, that the people who will have taken me want, but I-I don't know what that could be." She rambles as everyone goes quiet.

"Show them the thing doll." Asher says to Paisley causing Luke to growl.

"There is something that I've been meaning to show you, Mom, Dad." Paisley says then stands in the middle of the wide circle that we've created.

She closes her eyes as I sit up watching her when something catches my eye. Her hands start to get a deep shade of red, like how Mom's do when she's angry.

My eyes widen and I shoot a panicked look at Dad but he's not paying attention. And just as I'm about to say something, "Mom she has a demon." Luke whispers and her eyes widen.

"Paisley I think it's best if we-." Mom is cut off when fire shoots into a tree causing it to burst into flames and I stare at the tree then her.

"O-I didn't mean to do that. There's this thing I do, it's like, when I concentrate, it's like a lighting comes from my fingers. It's really cool-."

"Colton, the mirror." Alexandra says suddenly.

He looks at her with a confused look as Alexandra turns to look at me.

"Sophia, can you come here please?" She asks and I frown.

I see Luke frown then look at me and I nod slowly. I get up hesitantly then look back to Mom and Dad while they nod in encouragement.

"Do you happen to maybe, maybe be able to have an affect on glass?" She questions and I furrow my brows.

"I-I don't think so. I know that I have a dark angel though. I don't have anything other than that." I lie about the last part. I wasn't going to announce something I haven't even told my family yet to a bunch of strangers.

"Val, would you happen to have a healing power or something to do with nature?" She asks quickly.

"Yes, both." Mom nods.

"I know about the war, I have visions sometimes." Colton pipes up and Alexandra looks at him.

"And you never told me?" She asks with a hurt expression.

"No, well yes. Baby, I didn't want to worry you. Everything with Ray and Jeremy-."

"Don't." She says with a hard glare as I awkwardly stand in the middle of the circle watching them argue.

"Mom who's Ray and Jeremy?" Paisley asks and I turn to see her take my spot next to Luke. Meaning I'll have to sit next to that Ash twat.

Deciding I have no more use in the middle of the circle I go sit in my new spot next to Ash as he inspects me from the corner of my eye. I refrain from giving a snarky remark as to why he's staring at me but stay silent.

"They're bad people. Jeremy, he's a vampire. A terrible one. Ray is a disgusting excuse of a werewolf." She says with hate laced in her words.

"Anyways, the mirror. It's supposed to be a mirror that-." Suddenly we hear a rustle in the trees not far from us and we all look towards the sound as my heart starts to race for some reason. There's no way it could be the pack starting the war, we should still have another day.

I turn to see Luke trying to tuck Paisley behind him, most likely trying to shield her but she keeps fighting him causing me to laugh making him glare.

"It's not safe to speak of these things outside. Let's go up to the Alpha floor. Paisley, you can show Luke and Sophia to some rooms then meet us in-."

That's when a giant black wolf with green eyes and a long scratch over his eyes suddenly bursts through the trees and Asher scoots his way in front of me in a protective position while I frown.

"I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself you know." I whisper and he turns to me then back forward.

"I'm a Beta it's in my nature to protect Alpha's and Luna's." He replies.

"Well I'm no Alpha or Luna. Only the daughter of one." I comment and I can sense his distress.

"Greyson." Mom says in a terrified voice breaking me out of my staring contest with him.

"It's him."

The black wolf if you don't remember is the one that attacked her (Valerie) when she was younger.
