I sit up in bed and grab the thin grey book on my bedside table. I have a habit of writing down my dreams every morning for a thing to read whenever I get bored. Last night's dream was a weird one, I was climbing an evergreen that's in my backyard when one of the branches I was standing on suddenly broke. The catch is that I never stopped falling, just going and going through different patterned backgrounds as if I were Alice falling down her rabbit hole.

I manage to write as much detail down as possible before my brother calls me down for breakfast. Once I slip my book into my denim book bag, I skip down the stairs to the dinner table where I am greeted by a blond haired boy in baggy basketball shorts and a loose black t-shirt.

"Yo Jas." He ruffles my already messy brown hair and I quickly slap his hand away so I can tidy it up.  "I'm working late at the diner tonight, so I might not be able to call ya tonight. Just remember the usual. I love ya, and I'm super proud of you for making it into this school. You worked really hard and you deserve the best you can do."

"Thanks Ty, but can we stop this mushy gushy stuff before I get sick? Thanks." I punch his arm before he gives a wave. I pelt my ever ready toast at him and then continue eating the other piece. Life has been great so far and I can't wait for it to get even better once I go to this school.

When I'm done with my breakfast, I bolt upstairs and grab my denim book bag along with the black suitcase filled to the brim with things to fill my dorm with and clothes.
