"Do you like it?" My dad said as I stepped into our new house.

"I love it....It's huge!" I exclaimed.

"It is, and it's very nice in fact" he added.

My mom and I nodding approvingly. I just love our new house already, and I haven't even seen the whole place. Nathan was already jumping up and down and around, his big green eyes looking everywhere throughout the entire house.

"Jess, even though I don't know where we are, I love here" He spoke, as his voice was full of joy and couldn't be happier.

"Where in Birmingham, we live here now" I smiled at my little brother.

I rolled my eyes as he dragged me up the stairs with his little hands. I can't help but laugh at how excited he is about our new home.

"Jess, can we play in my new room?" he asked, literally pulling me all the way before I had the chance to answer

"Sure" I smiled at him.

"Jessica, are you upstairs, can you please give me a hand?" My dad shouts up the stairs

"Coming" I shouted back, as I hurried down the stairs leaving Nathan to play with his toys in his room.

As I came downstairs, I helped my dad upload my things from the moving truck and helped to carry them. It just looks so much bigger than I expected it to be. I've mean I've seen pictures of the place but, in person it's huge. I'm unsure about how I feel about the place but, I love it at the same time. While I quickly carried my stuff upstairs and into the room; as I reached my room, I pushed open the door; as it was already slightly opened I rested a box filled with my things on the floor, next to my desk.

This is absolutely perfect! A huge window, white clean walls, hardwood floors, the sunlight shining perfectly. Just the way I wanted and imagined it. This room is so much bigger and spacious than the one my brother and I used to share.

I quickly tied my hair into a lose ponytail and started to organize my things and started to decorate a little. I took a deep breath and stared at all the boxes which still needed to be unpacked. As I took a little break, I looked out the window and noticed that the view wasn't bad. I could see our garden and the view of the street. Then I decided to sit down and try to finish unpacking my things. Although I was exhausted from the drive, it was worth it. I hated long rides unless it lead to a happy ending.

After for what seemed like forever, I finally finished packing everything away and decided it would be nice to check out the neighbourhood. As I walked over to the window I looked out at thought, Birmingham is a new place but, as I was looking out the car window, there wasn't a park too far from here, and thought it might be a good idea to get some fresh air.

While I walked down the stairs and to the kitchen, I noticed that my mom was unpacking all the kitchen things.

"I'm going to take a walk" I smiled softly, looking her way

"Sounds like a great idea, maybe you'd get to know some of the neighbours" She smiled as she kept uploading things and packing them away in the cupboard.

My parents feel guilty seeing that they know, they had had taken me and Nathan away from our friends. They always have to work, travelling to different places, and because of their new job, we got located here. I don't really mind it actually; as I've just turned 18, it's like a brand new start at life. New friends...hopefully if I meet anyone, and as I'm feeling nervous about school, it doesn't seem like something that would happen right away.

The neighbourhood here, everyone seems to know everyone pretty well as I felt a bit out of place, I quickly pulled my phone out and acted like I was texting someone. As I finally reached the park, the sky was blue and bright but looked like some rain clouds were starting to form. Normally this is how British weather is...luckily I brought along my grey hoodie. While I sat at a bench, going through some texts, and looking at snapchat stories to see what all my friends were up too; it seemed like they were having more fun at the moment than I actually was.

As I looked up for a moment to look around, so I'm not completely lost in my phone, I saw a golden retriever ran towards me, and stopped as he started barking. Uh, what the hell?

"Jesse!" someone yelled.

Then I saw a shirtless guy with shades running towards me. The dog stopped barking at looked at the boy who was coming my way. As he bend down and patted his dog, putting her leash back on he looked up at me.

"I'm sorry about that,"

He stood up as he was finish and smiled softly as he was really close. I looked at him as he took a towel that was on the bench next to me; which I had not noticed before, throwing it over his shoulder as it hanged loosely.

"Do you live here?... I haven't seen you around before," he said in his Brummie accent.

Come on just say something and don't sit there like a fool Jessica.

I put my phone back into my jeans pocket and stood up, putting a strand of hair behind my hair.

"Yeah, I just moved here" I spoke softly, not wanting to sound weird with my American accent

He has bandana on his brown curls and removed his shades, showing his brown perfect eyes. Wow. Just wow.

"I'm Brad by the way, and I love the accent" he smiled as he held out his hand for me to shake.

"Jessica" I shook his hand as I couldn't help myself from smiling, then looking up at him in his eyes.

"ugh, I have to go now, it was nice talking to you" he winked at me before, putting his shades back on and turns around starting to walk as his dog followed along.

As I got back home, Nathan is sitting on the couch playing on the iPad some child games based upon a tv show.

"Hon, we'll be in basement!" I heard my mom yelled out

"Okay," I replied softly as they weren't going to hear me anyway. I then sat down next to Nathan and started to mess with him as it got him a little upset as it was funny.

After a while I heard the unfamiliar sound, the doorbell. I sigh as I knew my parents were in the basement and wouldn't be able to hear that, as I got up from the couch to opened the door.

Who's that now? We just moved in and don't really know anyone..could it be the mailman? Wait do we even get our mail here yet? Or even at this time of night?

As I opened the door I saw a women and a little browned haired girl about the same age as Nathan. The women gives me a bright smile, maybe our neighbor .I politely invited them in and yell for my parents but, no answer.

"Just a second, Mrs...?" I'll go get my parents"

"Simpson, just call me Anne, love" She smiled politely once again before I headed downstairs to get my parents.
