Today was the day. The first day of school.

I woke up early so that, I would have more than enough time to get ready and make sure I have everything I needed for the day. I walked over to my closet and opened the doors, searching for something to war.

Hmmm. What to wear? I don't want to look to dressy or too casual.

I have to look decent but, I don't want that 'I tried too hard' look. Finally after a few minutes I found something to wear, and decided to go with a blue high waisted skirt, an off white knit sweater, along with an infinity scarf. I then walked over to my mirror and did some loose curls to bring back some life to my hair a minimal make-up as it was just a normal day. I then, walked downstairs and stepped into my black vans and threw my backpack over my right shoulder.

The school was only about a 10 minute walk from the house but, I couldn't help feeling a tad bit lonely as me and Ariel used to walk together every morning. I plugged out my phone, looking for a song and then popping in my headphones. I always used to walk to school with Ariel, we used to gossip about some many things, and sometimes couldn't stop laughing with some of the stories.

I remember one time when we were really late to school, and we ran as fast as we could go. Overall we looked like idiots but, at the same time we still walked into class as everyone stared at us and we just laugh.

Good times. I smiled as I wore the bracelet today that she gave me. It always made me feel like she wasn't that far away; when in actuality she was, which I made a mental note to call her after school to give her all the detail

I imagined being the new kid in school, everyone would be staring as I walked down the hallways and into the different classes. I thought to myself; that's not going to happen. I just have to act like I know what I'm doing.

When I reached the school, I pulled out my schedule from my bag and looked at it. I looked at it, trying to study everything and see what class was first. Normally in the movies this is where some cute girl or even guy walks over and tries to help me out, showing me around and we became friends for life or something like that? At least in American films that's how it happened.

I should really stop daydreaming and wake up to the real world.

At least I was able to find my locker in a manageable time. My first lesson was English so, I quickly threw everything in my locker and just picked up a notebook and my pencil case. Then I threw my bag into my locker also.

When I was about to close my locker door, I suddenly felt a soft tap on my shoulder, and turned around, looking up as I was face to face with a boy. He had a dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, he was smiling and had such cute dimples. Are all the guys here so hot? Okay Jessica stop daydreaming again.

"You must be new here?" he says softly "I'm Connor" he held out his hand

I quickly smiled and nodded, shaking his hand which was warm, surprisingly "I'm Jessica" I replied not really knowing what to say.

"It's very nice to meet you Jessica. Which lessons do you have?" he asks as he glanced down at my schedule, which I was still holding.

"Uh, I think English" I said as I looked down back at the paper and looked back up at him.

"Oh! I have the lesson, follow me, I'll lead the way. Ms. Clark is my favourite teacher. She's really nice and has a few good jokes." He spoke in his Scottish accent and smiles at me, while I followed him.
