Lauren's POV
I walk to Camila's side of the car and open the door for her. She looks at me confused but I just motion for her to get and she does. After I close the door, I walk back around to my side and hop in.
"The only people who open the door for me are the drivers who drive me from shows to hotels or whatever. So thank you for doing that, it's sweet of you", she says and lightly squeezes my arm in thanks. I smile warmly at her and back the car out of the parking lot.
"You're going to have to tell me where to go because I have no clue where your boy toy's house is", I smirk at her. "He is definitely not my boy toy", she uses hand quotes around boy toy, "and I was already planning on doing that before you said that", she rolls her eyes at me in a playful manner and I laugh quietly.
The drive was relatively quiet besides Camila giving me directions every once in a while. I could tell she was excited to see Mia, and I was excited to meet her as well but I was also a little nervous. Kids are a good judge of character so that leaves me wishing and praying that Mia likes me. If she doesn't all hopes for me and Camila would be out the window.
"Turn left here then it's the middle house in the cul-de-sac." She said pointing out the window. I turn left and pull up in front of the house, gaping at the size of it. I guess that's what happens when you are a singer and make tons of money.
I hop out of the car and walk to the front of the car, seeing Camila doing the same. I nervously rock on my feet, and play with my fingers.
"She's gonna love you, don't be so nervous", she chuckles and nudges me towards the front door. We take about 6 steps before the little girl comes flying through the door.
"MOMMY", she screams. Camila bends down onto one knee and prepares to catch her in her arms.
"Hi princess, I missed you so much", she whispers just loud enough that I could hear.
"I missed you way more. Daddy no fun", she says and laughs. She smiled at her and stood up holding her on her hip.
"Mia this is Lauren, she's my friend", she tells Mia. "Is it okay if she hangs out with us for a little while tonight?"
Mia looks me over a couple of times and then smiles, "I think she's gonna play with me lots, right mommy?" She asks her.
"I think she would love to", Camila says and I just stand there dumb founded and smiling at their cute interaction. Ever since I found out about Mia I thought Camila would be a great mom, but seeing her actually with her and holding her proves my theory correct.
Mia wiggles out of her moms arms then walks up to me and tugs on my hand. She motions for me the squat down and whispers in my ear, "Can we go to the park to play?"
I look up at Camila and she just smiles indicating that it's my choice. "I'd love to kiddo. Lets get your stuff then we can go", I whisper back and her eyes go wide. Then in a split second she's running back to the house.
I stand back up and look at Camila who's smiling at me. "What? Do I have something on my face?" I ask covering my face with my hands.
"No of course not, Mia's just never been so confident in talking to new people. She likes you a lot, I can tell." She says and it's my turn to smile at her. "Also don't cover you face, it's too beautiful to be hidden". With that she was off to find her daughter, leaving me alone to smile like an idiot in the front yard.
