Chapter 5: The Bad Boy and The Broken Friend

(UNEDITED)

The music played softly while I drove, leaving me in a peaceful and calm state. Despite the event the party has to end with, I couldn't help but think about the dance. It was so serene and gentle but dangerous. There was something there, like a spark or whatever. I can't really tell what it was but it was amazing nevertheless. Overall, the party was joyful and energetic, especially when Brooke and I stoked the crowd with our dance.

Wait, Brooke! I can't believe I forgot about here. I need to know if she got home safely. I'm such a bad friend. I hastily, parked my car on the side of the road and snatched my phone from my purse to give Brooke a call.

Ring... Ring... Ring...

I waited impatiently and worried until a very sleepy voice answered. "Hello?"

"Brooke? It's me, Saffron. Were you sleeping?"

"Oh hey, Saff. Yeah but it's okay. What's up?" She replied from the other side of the line with a yawn.

"Oh okay. I just wanted to make sure you got home safely after, you know, the incident at the party. How'd you get home?" I asked, knowing that I was her ride.

"Aww, don't worry I got home. River dropped me off. You alright? Did you get home yet?" She answered ever-so calmly. I bet she's developing feelings for him. River is a good guy, I would so approve.

"Oh," I say in a teasing tone. "I see what's going on here. And yeah, I'm alright, I'm on my way. Anyway, you go sleep and I'll talk to you later, okay? I need to tell you what happened." I added eagerly.

"Alright, babe. Can't wait to hear it. Good night." She farewelled.

"Night." And with that I hung up, feeling a weight being lifted off my shoulder as I sigh with relieve and make my way home.

I pull my car to a stop as I park it in the driveway and getting, making my way to the door. Pulling out my key, I open the door and invite myself into my warm and cozy home. The house with quiet and dark meaning my mother probably wasn't home. To ensure my 'hypothesis' is true, I walked up the stairs and opened the door to my mum's room to peep inside, it was empty. It was almost two in the morning so maybe she's staying over at Dave's place. Satisfied at the thought, I decided I should take a warm shower to help relax and allow me to sleep with ease. Late night showers was always my favourite, it helps to loosen up my muscles and mind.

I enter the bathroom, locking the door behind me. Stripping out of my clothes, I put them aside and turn the knobs to lets the water at the right temperature before letting the water fall run over my body. Wanting to me the shower quick as I can hear my bed calling for me, I scrub and rub soap all over my body and wash my hair with my favourite shampoo which smells like a mixture of grapefruit, amber, vanilla and gardenia, my favourite flower. I hop out of the shower, literally, resulting in me nearly slipping. While regaining my balance, I dry myself with a towel and moisturise my body before my wrapping myself with the towel and walked to my room.

I dry my hair a little, leaving it damp and pick out a matching red and black underwear and bra. I let the towel drop to the floor and wear my undergarment. I take out a baby pink loose sweater, slipped it on and quickly jumped in bed. Reaching over to my bedside table for a hair tie, I tie my hair up into a loose messy bun. Letting the warmth of my bed and duvet engulf me, I sit up and look for my tv remote. I'm not sleepy quite yet and tomorrows Saturday so I figured I watch a couple of episodes of Gossip Girl or Teen Wolf or watch a random movie on Netflix.

I never realised when but while I laid in bed watching Gossip Girl a wave of slumber whooshed over me. My eyes felt heavy and exhausted so I let it closed. Just as I was about to fall into a deep trance, I heard my phone buzzed its 'message' tone. However, me being me, I left it to deal with tomorrow.
