Chapter 3: The Bad Boy and The Possessive Bitch
(UNEDITED)
"But why?" Brooke asked, still dazed on what has happened. "Why do you guys want to sit with us?"
"Because we wanted to, is that a crime?" Parker pointed out.
"No-o but..." I try to say something back but my mouth won't collaborate with my mind. All these glares from jealous girls are making me feel uncomfortable.
"But what 'kitten'?" River asks smugly, earning a glare from Parker.
"Only I call her kitten." Parker grits through his teeth, earning chuckles and smirks form the guys. His death glare softens as he glances at me, "But what kitten?"
Wow, copycat much.
"Wouldn't it be like social suicide?"
"Does it look like we care about what society thinks?" Gabe asks. I shook my head in reply. "Exactly." He winks charmingly at me.
I wish I could just get out of this cafeteria because I'm dreading this attention. It's not something I'm used to. I uncomfortably shuffle in my seat and look down at my untouched food.
I look up after a while to see Gabe eyeing my food, "Do you want it? I'm not hungry." I insist, pushing my tray towards him. His eyes light up and he grins like a goof.
"Seriously?" He gleams and I nod in reply. He grabs the tray and stuffed the sandwich in his mouth. "Thanks!" He said with his mouthful as I try to stifle in my laugh.
"Why are they sitting with the worthless snobs?" I heard a girl say from the table behind us.
Ouch! Could they be any louder?
"They're probably gonna use them and leave them when their done. They're certainly not worth shit." Another girl reply.
I stiffen in my seat, frowning. Parker seemed to realise my sudden change of mood.
"Saffron, whats wrong?" He asks concerned.
I force a smile but I swear he didn't fall for it, "Nothing, I'm fine."
Parker opened his mouth to say something but the bell rang, signalling the end of lunch. Thank god. "I-I have to get to class. See you guys later." And with that I rush out of the cafeteria and paced to my locker to grab my books for the last period.
As I walked to my locker I heard a familiar voice in the distance, "Saffron, hold up!"
I stop in my tracks and look back to see Parker jogging up to me.
"Hey, what's with the rush?" I shrugged in response.
"Okay, can I walk you to class?"
"Ahh, sure. I have biology on the west wing." My reply sounded more like a question.
"I'm heading that way too. I have business studies."
I simply nod, collecting my physics textbook and notebook.
"Why don't you talk much?" He asked. Oh you haven't seen me talk.
"I just met you, I-ah, I take some time. You probably think I'm boring, I'm sorry."
"You're not boring, don't say that but just be yourself around me." He looks into my eyes. His eyes holds an emotion but I can't figure out what. I even saw it when he cornered me after Vienna's bitch fit.
"Okay." I quickly say before looking down.
He's probably going to leave me anyway so what's the use of getting comfortable around him. Those girls were right.
