Chapter 6: The Bad Boy and Distracting Hormones
(UNEDITED)
Seated at my table in English class, I contend to focus and pick up what Mr Lowe is lecturing the class. However, a certain pest beside me won't stop bugging me for attention. Constantly poking my cheek, my arm, my sides and my legs.
"Psst, Saffron!" whispers the annoying bug, jabbing his finger into my cheek. I glance at him disapprovingly
I do my best to avoid by not budging and staring what's in front of me but he just doesn't get the point.
"Kitty," He coos in a playful and childish tone. "Saffron. Kitten, listen!"
He reached his fingers out to poke me once again but just before his finger met my skin, I smacked it away from me.
"Oh my God, Parker! What. Do. You. Want?" I hushed back, giving in and turning my attention to him, clearly irritating.
He looks as if what he did a minute ago wasn't in the book of the past and turns his gaze towards the board filled with notes.
Scoffing, I shake my head and look through the window next to me, no longer interested in Parker or the lesson. English bores the crap out of me anyway. Observing the empty, open field before me, I watch the breeze brush past the grass and the leaves of trees, shaking them around a little. I could feel myself cooling off the 'annoyed as shit' card.
Abruptly, a wave of warmth air brushed on the side of my neck. Flinching, I hastily whipped my neck only to see an amused Parker only inches away from my face.
Gasping, I awkwardly say, "P-Parker, what are you doing?"
"I just wanted to say hi, but this stubborn kitten kept ignoring me, which obviously hurt. So, now I'm getting you back." He whispered, his voice low and raspy.
I felt blood rushing up to my cheeks causing it to heat up, most likely resulting in me blushing.
I slowly move towards the edge of my seat as he places one of his hand on the table in front of me and the other on rested on the wall behind me. He slowly creeps closer and closer to me. His face was literally above mine, merely inches away from mine. His breath could be felt as it graze upon my skin and honestly, I felt beyond intimidated. He looked down at my lips and then pierced his gaze into my eyes, softly biting the side of his bottom. Distracted by his lips, I had not realised that I didn't have any room to move back anymore. Being the stupid idiot I am, I moved back a bit more and I fell off the chair, landing on the tiled floor with a thump and a painful ass. Everyone looked back at us to see what happened, some chuckles and giggles echoed around the room.
"What's going on there at the back?" Mr Lowe demanded to know.
Highly embarrassed, I glance up towards Parker who looked like he wasn't responsible for anything that had just occurred, then back to my teacher. I fixed my chair and sat back with a pout and a huff.
"I just slipped off my chair, sir." I confessed, still very red.
"Yeah, I'm sure that's what happened," He says, "I know all of these tricks and excuses you teenagers impose. I expect to both of you for detention afterschool."
"But sir-" I protest but Mr Lowe cuts me off.
"No 'but's. I've noticed you've been very disruptive today. You've earned it." He accuses calmly.
I don't mind if I get convicted of things I know I have done. However, if I'm accused of something I didn't do or say, then there'll be a problem.
I cross my arm across my chest and glance at Parker with a scowl. You know what, Parker doesn't deserve my time so he will not receive any of my attention until he owns up. Childish, I know but I unquestionably recoil from being blamed for something. That stupid, jerky, attractive, charismatic, hazel-eyed...wait what?? No, Parker the egotistical asshole is the only one to be blamed. How dare he seduce and think he can get away with it.
