I ran as fast as my legs could carry me.
"Zoe," the ghostly voice echoed through the woods. My breaths were short and rapid and my heart was pounding against my chest. The woods were too dark but I could see a faint light towards the end.
"You're so beautiful. I want you so bad."
The voice frightened me out of my wits. I wanted to cry while I ran but I didn't. I didn't want Eric to see how weak I felt inside.
"C'mon Zoe. I'm not drunk. I'm fine. C'mon let's make love," the voice chuckled.
"No!" I yelled back. The light was nearing. I could hear birds and water crashing against rocks.
"What did you say?" The voice lost its humor. "You little bitch. I'll make you pay for this."
Suddenly a gust of wind came from the direction I was running to and knocked me down. I felt someone yank me up with my arm and twist it. I shrieked.
"Say it again," Eric challenged. His handsome face was marked by a red mark, planted by me when he attempted to force himself on me, on his left cheek bone. His amber eyes glared at me. I wondered how could I be so stupid to fall for a monster like him. I pushed him away and kicked him in groin. He grunted and fell backwards. I sped off towards the light again as I heard him howling my name. My heart was pounding too hard and my legs grew weary. But I willed to go on, for I was almost there. I ran into the light and felt my feet running on something grainy and powdery. I came to a halt as I saw the vast, grey ocean before me. I breathed the sea air heavily as I watched the dark clouds roll over the grey sky. The tide was high and the sea roared in anger. It fought with the rocks as I watched the disastrous beauty of it. My breath and heart returned to its normal pace but I jumped again when I felt a hand spin me around. I shrieked. A pair of icy blue eyes glowed, filled with concern.
"Logan," I said breathlessly. He looked pale and ghostly. He was panting as well and pulled me into a tight embrace.
"Where were you? I was looking for you everywhere," I heard him say. As embarrassing it was, my stomach fluttered. He was looking for me, I thought. I felt his fingers rake through my hair and his lips on my neck, sending shivers down my spine. My hands went up to his back and I held him close to me. He felt so warm, despite the cold wind hitting us. He pulled back and held my chin. His eyes were fixed on my lips and I watched him lean. I felt the cold striking me on my skin in the form of water droplets. It was drizzling lightly as I felt his lips on my mine. My body trembled as I felt his arm wrap around my waist and pull me closer. The clouds brought down a shower of water upon us and I felt the wet sand under my feet. His kiss was rough and urgent as his grip around my waist tightened. I pulled back and looked at Logan. He looked beautiful as the rain water streamed down his face. But suddenly, the dark clouds rolled above us it and everything became as dark as the night. I could hardly see him. Lightning struck somewhere distant and a flash of light from the thunder fell on his face. I shrieked and pushed him away, as I saw the face of Eric when the light fell on him. I took my steps backs, into the sea as I watched Eric approach. The wet sand under the water pulled my feet in and I fell. I heard Eric screaming my name as the salt water swallowed me whole and I drowned to the bottom with no resistance. My head throbbed as I gasped and I sat up, breathing heavily. What the hell was that? I heard a clinking sound from the kitchen and I watched, with my eyes wide, Logan walk in. With a tray of breakfast on his hands. I watched him, put the tray on my bedside table and sit next to me. Jesus, why did he have to look so goddamn cute? He strongly smelled of spices and the sea and his hair was wet and messy. As if he just came out of my dream. His light pink collared shirt hugged his lean body perfectly and his sleeves were rolled up to his arms. He smiled at me. I slowly raised my arm like a sloth and poked his bare hand, making sure if he was a figment of my imagination or not. He watched my action carefully, with an eyebrow raised. His skin felt cold and hard as I touched him.
"You okay?" He asked, confused.
I nodded. Then slapped his arm. "What are you doing here?"
He grinned. "Back to your feisty self, huh?"
I narrowed my eyes.
"Don't you remember last night?" He asked, stroking my cheek.
I slapped his hand away. "What happened?"
He chuckled and I glared at him, considering the worst. Oh God no. Please tell me he's nice. Please tell me he's not like Eric.
I bit my lower lip. "What did you do to me?" I whispered. I meant to say that in a threatening manner but it came out all weak and pleading. His icy blue eyes turned soft as he touched my shoulder.
"Hey, I was just kidding. Nothing happened."
Anger boiled in my blood as I pushed him away. I jumped off from my bed and meant to dash off to the kitchen, bring back a knife and scare him away. But I tumbled to the floor, the throbbing pain in my head seizing my ability to continue moving any further. I felt arms around my waist and hands pulling me up and helping me sit on the bed.
"Prick," I muttered.
He smiled, which annoyed me even more.
"How did you get into my room?" I asked.
He snorted. "Silly Zoe, I'm the owner of this hotel."
I rolled my eyes. I felt a glass brought to my lips and drank the water from it, wetting my dry mouth and throat. And then he pressed a pill to my palm and I swallowed it with the water. I didn't how to feel about this. About Logan caring for me. It felt strange and awkward to me. But he was doing it so casually, like as if we have been done it so many times. He appeared so different to me. Gentle and sweet. No, not sweet. Nope. But yet, I couldn't find the cockiness that he applied when I first met him in his office. Did I really mistake him for Eric? Did I take him to be an arrogant bastard for his confident replies to my questions? I mentally shook my head. I reminded myself that the man before me almost got me ruined for life.
"How's Andy and Ryan doing?" I asked.
He sighed. "Andy is deep in her sleep and so is Ryan."
I nodded.
"On the same bed."
I nodded thoughtfully. Wait. What? I looked at Logan. "Pardon?"
"You heard me."
I gasped. "They're sleeping on...?"
"Yup."
Oh my God. Oh. My. God. Yissssss. I giggled and clapped my hands excitedly.
"I wonder what happened last night."
"Many things, I'm sure."
I nodded, grinning gleefully. This is going perfect.
